"I know this conversation might be a little awkward to have with your parents. Unfortunately, because all things supernatural are very new to you, your father and I thought it best to explain the mate bond," mom said.

I literally wanted to be anywhere but this room with my grandmother and parents about to have the supernatural version of the 'Sex talk'.

I stifled a groan.

"Lils, I know you're still getting used to us being your parents. But, your mother and I agree even though this conversation might get awkward for you, it's necessary to still have this conversation so you get an idea of what to expect," dad continued.

"Will you two stop beating around the bush. She's eighteen sure this isn't the first sex talk she's had, and I'm sure she wants to get it over with as fast as possible!" my grandmother said irritated.

"Ok, Celeste," dad said chuckling, "Lils, you've miraculously found your mate. The person with the other half of your soul. That's usually not as instantaneous as you finding out who your mate was."

"I imagine you've already realized the magnetic pull between you already since the discovery. Over a short period of time that bond will deepen. You will feel each other's emotions like their your own," dad continued.

"You will want to be in each other's presence all the time. The need to have a mind-link always open between the two of you when you're not around each will only get worse." grandmother chimed in.

"Then there's the sexual allure, you two will crave physical intimacy and as the mate bond deepens you won't be able to keep your hands off each other." mom explained.

I literally wanted the earth to swallow me at this moment as my face burned with embarrassment.

"Something you should know is fated mate bonds are permanent. It's much more than any boyfriend you may have had in the past, and thought you loved. Your fated mate is quite literally the other half of your soul. You two were made for each other. Any other person you may have had any affection towards before finding your mate will never compare to your mate. You being paired to each other means you can balance each other out. When fully mated you will live and breathe for your mate. Mates are the most sacred bonds in the magical realm." my Mom said.

"Lean on each other when you need to. Establish constant communication now as the foundation of your bond so you can work through any challenges you may face together." my Grandmother added.

"Now here's where I'm going to take the time to speak directly to you Jesse. Mate bond or not you better be the upstanding person I trust you are as a general and as my daughter's mate and my son-in-law. I will let Lils tell you when she's ready, but she's been through a lot, so you better treat her right. You better make sure you have consent the entire time. If I find out otherwise I will beat you within an inch of your life," dad said his tone of voice emphasizing his seriousness.

"Seriously Dad?" I said annoyed.

"Oh he's serious and I'll be right there with him ready to set him straight after your dad gets finished." mom replied with no hint of joking.

"You will never have to ever worry about Princess Lillian being treated right in my presence, ever. I promise." Jesse said trying to reassure my parents.

"I encourage you two to find time to sit down and talk to get to know each other. It helps to know a few things about your mate before it gets to the point of you needing to claim your mate." grandmother suggested.

"Thanks, Grandma." I said smiling.

"Now Lils, tomorrow I will meet you here so I can take you to our coven and get you bound as not only a member of the House of Nightbane Coven but also the Nightbane Pack. Being bound to the coven and pack both have their own rituals to add you to them," he started, "Jesse I know you hate your father and are at odds with him. I would like to offer you the choice to also join the House of Nightbane Coven. You are not obligated and have the right to refuse." he finished.
