Lillian's POV

As I sat there holding Jesse's hand I thought, despite my frustration at Jesse moments ago I felt content.

His closeness made me feel cared for.

Our budding relationship was slowly blooming.

"Jesse?"

"Yes Princess."

"You mentioned yesterday that you had no interest in leading your family coven. I realized I should have asked you this yesterday before today's events. But what does the future look like for you as I inherit the kingdom?"

"I have never had any interest in leading a kingdom, let alone a coven. But for you, Princess, I would be by your side no matter my interests. I already see how important this is to you. I'll be there every step of the way."

"Jesse you can support me without becoming a king. You don't even have to be a part of the coven other than having its protection. I don't want you to be unhappy."

"Lillian, I know that. I'm choosing to be with you every step of the way as you become Queen."

"Let me be clear Jesse, your decision matters. I imagine as a soldier your decisions only matter so much. So what do you want to do?"

He was quiet for moment.

" Thank you, Lillian for caring enough to ask. Honestly, I never really thought about it since I've met you. Not running my family's coven due to the reasons I mentioned but helping to mainly oversee the Nightbane Coven is something I don't mind taking responsibility of to help you. Unfortunately I don't think I should help much regarding the pack. Doesn't feel right."

" Helping with the coven is more than enough and one less thing on my plate, so thank you."

"Glad I will be of some assistance to you."

We laid there in a comfortable silence.

It was peaceful.

I was already enjoying being in Jesse's company.

I wouldn't say I loved him just yet.

Still a little too soon for me.

But I couldn't see not being in love with him soon.

"Princess?"

"Yes, Jesse."

"You got quiet on me. You okay?"

"I'm okay, just thinking."

"Penny for your thoughts."

I smiled.

" Just thinking about us. How quickly the bond is growing on my side."

" Yeah, I agree it's only been two days. And that two days have been like night day regarding the bond growing with you."

"Being away from you already feels wrong. I hadn't noticed it until you were sleeping. "

His response made me feel warm inside.

" Is that why the chair is now right beside the bed?" I teased

He laughed.

"This moment right here seems so surreal," I added as I decided to sit up.

He sat up as well and then turned to look at me.

" I don't know why, but I'm still very tired from earlier today.
