Lillian's POV

I watched as Bash led our guests to their rooms.

"Suzanna," I called out.

She was Sebastian's twin sister. Their family had been serving as our Head Butlers for hundreds of years even before Mom passed down the Kingdom to me.

"Yes, My Queen," she said appearing.

"Pass along an urgent summons to all the generals to meet us in the war chambers with their two or three most promising young warriors in the next fifteen minutes."

"As you wish your Majesty" she replied and teleported away.

Kaden grabbed my hand before teleporting us into the war chambers.

As we both took a seat I asked Kaden, "How did it go with that bastard in the dungeon?"

"He's still alive for now. I will get my pound of flesh before I kill that bastard."

"As you should babe."

A few moments later the generals started to arrive with their best warriors.

For reasons I didn't quite understand, my attention lingered on a few of the younger warriors coming in with the generals.

"Greetings Generals and Warriors." Kaden said once everyone was there and seated at the oval table in we sat at the head of.

"Your Majesties" echoed back in unison

"Kaden and I have a special assignment for a very select few. It will be a prolonged assignment. And every day you'd be putting your life on the line. Some of you will be isolated and must be okay with that. But before we pick those individuals we are going to have some mock battle trials to see which individuals will do best for this mission."

"I'm sure the rumors have already reached some if not all of you. But I make this clear for those that may not know, our child has arrived safely in our Kingdom-" I began, as murmurs of shock and disbelief swept the room. I swept my gaze to the expressions on their faces.

Some looked beyond shocked. The were a few that looked, uneasy. What struck me as odd were a couple who had very calculating expressions.

"Child?"

"I didn't even know they had a child!"

"How do they have a child?"

"I thought they were crazy when I heard the rumors!"

"There's a Royal no one knew about?"

"There's an Heir to the Kingdom?"

"Silence," Kaden's voice boomed, "Your Queen is still speaking!" He growled.

The magic in the air became sharp and unrelenting as The King's voice  boomed. The room quieted instantly.

One General stepped forward and sank down on one knee and bowed his head causing the others to follow, " We apologize for our rudeness your Majesties, This is just a lot to take in."

"Thank you, General," I continued.

The soldiers and generals returned to their seats.
