"It all started when the tension between the monsters and the humans was at its peak. The humans feared the monsters as much as monsters feared the humans. Humans was stronger, physically and magically. But monsters could do something much more powerful than hundreds of humans. They could merge with any human souls. Making them god-like." He started, I listened closely at his every words. "The humans, wanting to have all of their chances on their side, started to experiment on their own souls. They wanted even more power, even more magic. They used several spells on them, making the soul stronger, but at a huge cost, corrupting their soul, those corruptions made humans three times stronger, but it was costing their lives." He stopped, drinking a bit of the liquid in his mug. "They experimented for months and months, to find something who won't crush their souls with intense magic power. One day, a user of Determination used himself to the experiment, as Sans told me, you all know what Determination is capable of." He said, drinking more. I nodded as I knew exactly what he was talking about. "The power of RESET." I said, Gaster nodded at me. "Exactly, the power to return in a precise point in the past. This power is something different, only Determination users can do such a thing. The Determination Wizard wanted something to not only control time, but reality itself. A power than can be used to change the course of events in the present, the will to modify reality, the will do to what humans could not do. There, the Ancient Power was born, using every power of all the seven traits." He explained more, I was surprised, my power could modify reality itself. "With that power, the Wizard could absorb any magic attacks on him, and he could use them at such efficiency, that him alone destroyed legions of monsters, making the turning point in that war. After the Barrier was created, that power was too much for him to handle, his soul couldn't take all that pressure, it collapsed on itself. Normally, all of his soul was erased from reality, but an essence of his soul was kept. The humans started to do researching on Ancient Power, and found that not only Determination souls could use that power, but also that if the user wasn't determined enough, it would crush itself." He finished to explain.
"So, basically, Ancient Power was designed to counter the god-like power of a monster merging with a human soul." I said, making Gaster nod. "But for the Ancient Power to work, it needs to feed on the user's Determination." I continued, making Gaster smile a little. "You are quite fast to understand, Y/N." He said, I smiled a little. "After all, I don't want my soul to be erased." I said, shrugging. "Ahah, do not worry, your soul had more Determination than needed, in fact, your Determination seems to be growing at all time." He said. "But, how can you know all of that, weren't you trapped Underground ?" I asked, his face shifted, instead on a slightly happy face, it was now a neutral and stoic face. "I am not an usual monster. I've sacrificed myself when my biggest creation went out of control, sending me across time and space, all the events that were made, and all the events that was made, I could see them all at the same time." He explained, spawning two hands. "Enough talking about my doomed past. You wanted to understand Ancient Power better right ?" He asked. I nodded.
"To understand your power, you need to feel it, you need to use it for its original purpose." He said, looking at me deadly in the eyes. "What does it mean ?" I said, I didn't understand that well. "The purpose of Ancient Power was to modify reality itself, making the impossible, possible." He started. "You need to use that to fully understand how to use it perfectly. So, to tell you the biggest line, Ancient Power rewrite reality when you absorb magic, may it be human magic or monster magic." He continued. I started to understand what he was talking about. "So, when I absorb magic who isn't mine, I rewrite reality unconsciously, making me able to use absorbed magic ?" I asked. "Not quite, you rewrite reality to absorb magic, all of your power come from the fact that you change your course all the time. Like a book rewriting itself when different choices are made. You are capable of changing fate due to your power." He explained. I looked at Chara, she was surprised that I was capable of following Gaster's words. "Changing fate... That feels too heavy for a responsibility." I said, Gaster laughed a little. "Do not take it like that, your job is not to change the world entirely. It is to make yourself stronger with the time. To counter every type of magic, by controlling reality to make them yours." He said. "It's ... kinda selfish." I said. "That was why it was created in the first place, but yours is different, the first one was stealing magic, making the owner of the attack unable to use it. Yours, in the other hand, rewrite reality in a way to make you and the user able to use the absorbed magic." He said, I smiled a little. "Okay, I understand now. The previous wilders was stealing it for his own deeds, but I just do some sort of copy." I said, making Gaster nod in agreement. "Yes, that is the idea, but since you are not quite experimented, it will be difficult to use it to the maximum potential." He said, as his hands started to pack some things up.
"Gaster, are you really gonna move up there ?" Sans asked. "That kid needs someone who can guide him, I would be a terrible friend if I can't help." He said, slightly smiling. "Thanks, I really appreciate it." I said to Gaster, I felt Chara's hand being intertwined with mine. "It is my pleasure, after all, I could also help the previous princesses, while helping their soulmate." He said, finishing packing his stuff. "How do you know ?" David asked, but it seemed like Chara and Frisk weren't surprised. "Trust me, I know a lot of things." Gaster said. "Well, time to move. Are your ready ?" Sans asked. We all nodded. "Close your eyes." Sans said, teleporting us.

"Are you sure that it's a good idea ?" David asked, we were alone as the monsters were talking with Gaster. "It's the only way, I don't want to endanger her. Toriel and Asgore are okay with it, Chara, Frisk and Asriel pushed me to talk about it." I said. "And I told her that I will explain everything when it will be over." I added, making David nod. "It will hurt her, you know." He said, as he stopped ahead of my house's door. "I know, and it hurts me too, but it needs to be done. I said, entering the house. "Well, I'll wait you outside." David said, I nodded as I entered my home. As soon as I put a foot in the house, my mom rushed at me and hugged me. "Y/N, you're back !" She said, I could feel relief in her voice. I hugged her back, it won't be easy. "Hey, mom." I just said, I could hear that my voice wasn't a good omen. "Mom, I need to talk to you." I said, she nodded as she took a seat in the couch. Then, I explained everything I could, without telling about the RESET, Ancient Power and all that bullshit. "Which is why I need to stay with the Dreemurrs, they'll help me with that phase. I'm sorry to make you endure that, I don't want to do it, but it's the only way to keep you out of danger." I said, I could feel tears coming, but I fought it, but mom wasn't fighting them at all. "Please, promise something." She started, I only nodded as I waited for her to speak. "Please, let me visit once in a while, I can't stand not seeing you for a long time." She said, I only smiled a little. "Of course, I'll tell them." I said, hugging mom. I looked my room's door, and I saw Sans, giving me a thumb up, signaling me that my stuff was moved. "I need to go mom, I promise to give you my news." I said, hugging her. "What about your stuff in your room ?" She said. "A friend of mine already took care of it, let's say he's the best removal man of the town." I said, laughing a little, even if it was pained me. "I love you, mom." I said, ending the hug. "I love you too son, please stay safe." She said, looking at me while I was going out of the house. "I'll do, mom, see you." I said as I opened the door, I looked one last time at my mom and saw her sadly smiling, I smiled back at her and closed the door.
"Everything's okay kid ?" Sans said, David wasn't there anymore, looks like Sans teleported him in his house or in my temporal future house. "Yeah, all good. It's just ... I don't want her to be in danger, I know that what I'm doing will be good in the long term. But seeing her sad like that, and when I lied about all that, I couldn't help but to be sad too." I said, Sans put his hand on my shoulder and looked at me gently. "I know kid, but you're making the right choice. You are truly kind." He said, making me a little better. "Thanks Sans." I said, showing my appreciation. "Don't sweat it, come on, let's go." He said, I nodded as I closed my eyes.

"At least, I'm living with you for now." I said, as Chara and I finished to put all of my stuff in her room, with some weird magic, they managed to make her room ever bigger, but I can't complain. "It'll be alright, N/N. She can come anytime she'd like after all." She said, hugging me softly. I hugged her back. "I know." I just said, letting myself sunk in the hug. I couldn't help but to feel really tired at that moment. Good thing we had dinner before moving all of my thing.
I need to protect who I love, even if it's difficult.
I will not give up, and I will end those who made this to me.
