Chapter 66

One Month Later

I've tried everywhere, and still nothing. I started to doubt my plan a little. After all after a month where I searched everywhere I could and still found nothing, it can put a little dent into your confidence. I just knew his magical presence, his face and his name, nothing else. 

I was walking into a nearby city where they lived, I smiled at the souvenir who popped in my brain, just them arguing about Binding of Isaac, one said that the best character was Isaac, the other said that it was Azazel. Her favorite was actually Judas, quite fitting to be honest. I shook my head and I focused on magical presence around me.

As I walked deeper into the city, I found a little convenience store, and even if I always found what to eat and drink, I was still damn hungry, so I decided to stop in there and shop for a few things.

"Hello sir." The cashier greeted me, I nodded back and I quickly browsed the store to find what I needed. I found sandwiches and drinks, perfect. I hastily took two sandwiches and one bottle of water and walked towards the cashier. When I was near the cashier, I noticed that they sold chocolate too, if she was there, she would've took everything and make me pay. I handed my products to the cashier and waited for him to tell me to pay. "That'll be 5.45€." He said, I handed a 5€ bill and 50 cents. "Keep the change." I said to the cashier, he nodded and smiled a little bit. "Hope you'll have a good day." He said while I took the articles I bought. I nodded at him and I walked out.

After a quick lunch break, I resumed my search, I needed to find him after all. I teleported to the top of the biggest building I saw and started to focus.

As always. Just after the magical scan, I felt a wave of energy coming right at me, I teleported myself in the air and looked at it, and that time, the energy was not unknown.

Cashier, my day is going to be perfect. I teleported back to the rooftop and I looked around quickly, the shockwave was going into the city, but it was harmless. Was that a taunt ? A message to tell me he's here ? No need to think about all that, I'm fucking eating the bait. It was coming from the little forest behind the city, so I rushed towards the dense concentration of trees.

Once I got into the forest, I searched everywhere to see if he let some things behind him. And I was right, there was footprints in the dirt, leading somewhere. I cautiously followed them and I finally saw something.

A trapdoor, in the middle of the forest. "Luckiest day ever." I lowly said to myself as I opened it, there was a ladder going down in a hole, I didn't hesitate and jumped into the hole, it as big enough after all. 

Right before I landed, I teleported on the ground to lend safely, a thing I used quite a lot during that month. I landed into a dark hallway, the only light there was the natural light of the sky making its way into that hiding spot.

"Seems like you found me." A voice was loudly heard around me, I looked around to see where it came from, and I saw some speakers at the top of the walls. Seems like he was in some sort of control room. "I hope you appreciated the journey, because you know it'll be your last." He said. I laughed a little. "I know it already." I said while I saw some cables going in and out of the speakers, so I decided to follow them.
