I woke up as I felt Chara shaking me. I grunted as I slowly opened my eyes. "What's happening ?" I said, with the morning voice. "Sorry to shake you like that, but Gaster said to wake you up." Chara said, I saw in her eyes that she was a little sorry, but also a little glad. "Alright, I'll come." I said, getting up. I put my shirt on and made my way downstairs.
Soon enough, when I reached the floor of the living room, a bone was flying towards me with blinding speed. I quickly put my hand towards the bone and absorbed it. "Good, even if you're sleepy, you got reflexes. Good morning Y/N." Gaster said, I was a little angry. "Yeah good morning. Why did you choose to wake me up for that ?" I asked Gaster. He laughed a little. "Just to make sure, that's all. You did say that you knew you were weaker." He said, I nodded as I felt he made a plan about my growth. "The plan is, you can have a pretty good power boost with the spiral. But you need to assimilate its power, you dompted it. Now you need to be one with it." He explained, it made sense after all, I needed to become one with the thing who practically made me insane. "How the fuck I'm gonna do that ? Let that thing control my thought once again ?" I asked, Gaster just nodded. I laughed a little as I knew that it would be worth the risks after all. "Fucking hell when am I gonna catch a break." I muttered, but it seemed that Chara heard it.
"How about you train normally ?" Chara proposed an idea. "Sadly, Y/N's case is special. In almost 2 months he reached his normal potential. Now Y/N needs basically explore his inner self. Make peace with his crumbling piece of mind that contain the Spiral." He said. He didn't have to say that. "Wait ... Y/N ?" Chara turned to me, demanding answers. "He's right, I put the Spiral in a mental zone, but its slowly starting to make his way back to my little brain." I said, she seemed pissed a little. "And why didn't you tell me ? Didn't tell us ?" She asked, I sighed a little. "You already know why." I said. "No sense ! I already told you that you can tell anything to me, how am I supposed to help if I don't know what's going on ?" Chara said, I felt her sadness merged with anger. "Now you know." I said, since I've got nothing better to say. Gaster took his turn to sigh. "Y/N, she's right, talking about it helps controlling it, you know that." He said, I nodded.
"So how I'm gonna tame that thing ?" I asked. Gaster just looked at me. "It's not my brain where it's located." He said. "How the Spiral feeds ?" Chara asked. I looked at her and smiled a little bit. "With my fear of losing my friends, losing sanity, losing you. It amplifies the negative feelings because of my not-so-good Determination." I explained, she nodded. I started to think about it, and then it clicked.
"Then I'll need to feed those fears." I just said, Chara and Gaster looked at me with a questionable look. "I'm going to let the fear emerge once again. When the time will be right, I'll just think of a way. A way to completely assimilate that Spiral." I explained. Gaster seemed alright with the idea. "It could work, you're basically baiting it to come out." Gaster said, I nodded. "Are you gonna be like before ?" Chara asked. "Sadly yes, but I'll try to die it down a lot." I said, she seemed to be relieved. "I don't want to be submerged by that again." I added, Gaster laughed a little. "Your willpower is ... quite strong. But do not overdo it, Y/N. I've seen many person who abused of their humanity, only to turn into psychos." Gaster said. I didn't take it as a warning, as I should. I took it as a challenge. "I'm positive it's gonna work. I could turn myself back it time if it wont work." I said smiling. "I won't be surprised if you actually can." He said calmly and then left, teleporting somewhere else.
"What's the plan for today ?" I asked Chara, she seemed to think a bit and then her face lightened. "How about ..." She trailed off, suddenly I've got an idea in mind. "Wanna go on a date ?" I asked her. Her expression instantly became bright like the sun. "Of course I do ! When will we go ?" She asked. "How about we leave early this afternoon. I'll go to the guest room to let you prepare if you want some privacy." I said, she smiled at my attention. "I'd like to do yeah, even if we've seen each other's body. I want to surprise you all the way." She said, smiling. I laughed a little. "Then it's settled, first date when we're dating actually." I said, she nodded and kissed me, I quickly kissed back. "Yeah, we have to make sure to make it special." She said. "Every moment with you is special Chara." I said, hugging her. She seemed a little surprised but hugged back. "Is that true ?" She asked quite shyly. I only nodded and I felt her smile becoming larger. "Good, I don't want to be the only one thinking it." She said, it was my turn to smile brightly.
