"Sorry I'm late" Dec apologised sheepishly.

He looked at Ant with his coat on,stood in front of the door.

"You're leaving?" He asked confused.

"I thought you'd stood me up" Ant replied sadly "thought you weren't coming"

"I nearly didn't" Dec admitted.

"Why not?" Ant asked.

"Because of all the crazy stuff you came out with the other day" Dec frowned "you must see how mad that was?"

"Yeah" Ant smiled "I probably was a bit over the top, sorry,it's just that I really like you"

"Yeah, you've made that quite clear" Dec laughed.

They made their way back to the table where Ant had been sitting, his pint still where he'd left it.

"Let me get you a drink" Ant smiled "what's your tipple?"

"I can get the drinks" Dec offered "I'm not a poor student"

"Neither am I" Ant grinned "bank of mum and dad and all that,I'm really not that hard up and I don't want you to think I'm only interested in you for your money"

"I don't think that" Dec replied.

"Good" Ant beamed "because I'm interested in you for you,I think you're a really interesting, fascinating guy and you're cute"

"And you're very forward" Dec laughed "I'll have a pint of lager then please"

After Ant got Dec's drink, they both sat in the corner of the pub, getting to know each other better.

Dec in particular was very surprised how easily the conversation flowed, there were no awkward silences and they laughed a lot,he decided that this Ant guy was actually alright and he would maybe like to get to know him a bit better.

They stayed in the pub for hours, ordering both lunch and dinner there, until eventually last orders were called.

"Can I stay with you tonight?" Ant asked.

"Just tonight?" Dec grinned "not for life?"

"That was cheesy right?" Ant was cringing so hard.

"Well,it was different" Dec laughed "but I'm not sure about you coming back to mine,I live with my parents at the moment...can't wait until I can move into my new flat"

"How about a hotel then?" Ant offered "I'll pay"

"You really are keen aren't you?" Dec grinned.

"Well,I think I may have missed the last train back to Brighton" Ant frowned "so I've got to stay somewhere"

"Don't you have college tomorrow?" Dec asked.

"Yeah" Ant nodded "I can get an early train in the morning,or it's not the end of the world if I miss a day"

"OK,well, there's some really nice places around here" Dec informed him "a bit pricey, but they're worth it"

"Let's go then" Ant grinned.

"I'll help you find somewhere" Dec nodded "but then I'll go home"

"Why?" Ant asked, while feeling slightly rejected "don't you find me attractive?"

"I do actually" Dec smiled "but there's no hurry is there?we've only known each other a few days"

"But I know that you're the..."

"Please stop with that 'I'm the one' crap" Dec interrupted "come on,let's find you a bed for the night"

Ant felt sad at Dec's words, but obligingly followed him and before long, they were peering around a room in a very nice Kensington hotel.
