Part 28

Dec's Italian show went well and he loved doing it,but after two series,it was time to call it a day.

He was still doing The Voice,but wasn't sure for how much longer.

At the beginning of 2019 while he and Ant were staying in their London flat,Anne and Fonsey invited them over for dinner with the rest of Dec's siblings and their partners as they had news.

"Wonder what this news is going to be?" Ant mused,as he and Dec walked towards his parents house.

"No idea" Dec replied "as long as it's good news"

"I'm sure it will be" Ant smiled.

"It's not like them to be so secretive about things though" Dec pointed out "they're usually happy to call or text about just about anything and calling a family meeting is very rare"

"Hmm" Ant nodded "that is strange,but let's not speculate,let's just see what they've got to say"

Dec wasn't worried,he was sure if it was something bad,he would have been told about it already and not during a family meeting.

But that thought totally flew away from him once he saw the serious looks on Anne and Fonsey's faces when they opened their front door.

"Mum,Dad" he said worriedly "what is it?what's going on?"

"Come in Son...Ant" Fonsey beckoned "go and join the others in the living room"

Ant and Dec said their hellos and sat down next to Camelia.

"Where's Bobby?" Dec asked.

As well as going on to completely recover from her horrendous accident many years ago,Camelia had by now married and had a child and was living a perfectly normal life.

"He's with the babysitter" Camelia announced "Mum said not to bring him"

"Do you know what this is about?" Dec asked.

"No idea" Camelia shrugged "none of us do"

"I hope everything is alright" Dec said cautiously.

"Maybe they're going to take us all away on a round the world cruise or something" Pat joked.

"You never know" Ant laughed.

"Hey" Anne smiled as she and Fonsey sat down "thanks for coming all of you"

"Why so formal Mum?" Dec frowned "what's going on?"

"Ok Dec" Fonsey replied quietly "please be patient,this isn't easy"

That sentence made everyone's heart sink,this was obviously going to be bad news.

Fonsey took Anne's hand and squeezed it tightly,reassuring her that he was there for her.

"Your mother has been having some health issues" Fonsey stated.

"It's okay love" Anne smiled at her husband "I'll tell them"

"What kind of health issues?" Pat asked.

"Headaches" Anne replied "dizzy spells"

"Ok" Dec nodded "so have you seen a doctor?"

"Yes,I have" Anne said.

"So is it migraines?" Dec asked "you can get some good medication for those I think"

"No,it's not migraines" Anne answered "please just listen"

Anne took a deep breath before continuing.

"I've had some scans" she told them "and the news isn't good I'm afraid"

"What?" Dec asked shocked "what do you mean?what are you talking about?you're going to be okay aren't you?"
