Part 49

"You did" Ant beamed "you were brilliant and I'm so proud of you"

"I can't believe it" Dec smiled "it was so amazing,I loved every minute of it,even if I did make a couple of mistakes"

"Who cares?" Ant grinned "it was a brilliant show and you were a huge part of that"

"Yeah" Dec nodded happily "and I'm sorry I didn't really get to speak to you throughout the evening"

"Dec" Ant laughed "you were working,I get that,don't you worry about me"

"If you're sure?" Dec asked concerned.

"Of course I'm sure" Ant smiled and pulled Dec into his arms and planted a loving kiss fully on his lips "and anyway,who gets to go home with you?"

"You do" Dec beamed and the couple wrapped their arms around each other.

"Exactly" Ant replied "I get the prize that everyone else wants"

"The prize?" Dec laughed.

"Absolutely" Ant grinned "being with you makes me feel like I'm a winner every second of every day"

"You're cute" Dec laughed "cheesy,but cute,come on,let's go home"

And so Dec got on with his busy schedule and Ant was inundated with work too.

Filming for The Piano programme was completed in the summer,to be broadcast early the following year,where Dec got to secretly judge amateur piano players at train stations around the UK and the soundtrack to the film was also now complete.

But one thing that was bothering Dec was that the planning for The magic piano tour just wasn't coming together due to huge logistics and production issues and so he had to make the difficult decision to postpone it for the time being.

"Everyone is going to be so mad at me" he sobbed into Ant's arms.

"No,they won't" Ant assured him "they'll understand"

"Will they?" Dec wept "some of them got angry at me for cancelling when I was ill"

"Well,those people are idiots then and not worth worrying about" Ant smiled "it's just one of those things"

"I feel so guilty though" Dec frowned "people have spent money to come and see me,I wish it didn't have to be like this...we've tried everything but it just wasn't coming together and we don't have enough time to change things"

Dec started sobbing heavily once again.

"Look" Ant said firmly as he cupped Dec's cheeks in his hands "yes,people have spent money,but they'll be reimbursed won't they? and of course they'll be disappointed initially,but there'll be plenty of opportunities for them to see you in the future,your fans adore you,it'll be okay,I promise"

"I hope so" Dec nodded sadly.

"And you're only postponing it" Ant pointed out "not cancelling it"

"Yeah" Dec whispered "sorry"

"What are you saying sorry for?" Ant asked "you're passionate about what you do and you love your fans and they love you,it's only natural that you should be upset about this"

Dec nodded,but didn't say anything,just stayed contentedly in the comfort of Ant's loving arms,the place he always felt the safest.

"I guess I should put a message out on social media" Dec said after a while "it's not that long until the tour was due to start,I need to tell them"

"Okay baby" Ant smiled and rubbed Dec's back "you do that"

So after carefully wording a message to post on Twitter and Instagram,Dec showed Ant the finished version.
