From time to time, I hear this sweet voice
It pounds my heart, it's more like a noise
Buzzing like katydids on a cold, summer evening
Like cawing crows that hunt for food in the morning.Whispering to me to jump into the dark cliff
Since life is pointless, it should be cut brief
Dictating me to drown myself in the ocean
For I am a failure, I can't get what I want.Even when I go to slumber
The voice haunts me — saying that I often erred
Meditating on what will happen tomorrow
Chasing contentment, counting cupfuls of sorrow. The moment I am away from my family
I am disturbed — I feel they're not okay
Supposing awfulness knocks on our door
It left me anxious; it made me non-secure.All these lurking sounds agitated me
I know they aren't from my Master, but from the enemy
Stealer, killer, and destroyer are his roles
But Jesus came to give life and have it full.My shepherd knows me and brings me to green pasture
He sets my feet on a rock and keeps me secure
His truthful voice lingers in my mind, so I'm aware
I always follow His, and not the devourer's.*****
"My sheep listen to my voice; I know them, and they follow me."
