Being someone else is like a trap
Pretending to be others is like being nabbed
As you're imprisoning yourself in a jail
Where you refused to accept the bail.Worrying about what others will say
As you're trying to please anybody
Thereby you neglect your distinct personality
As you're trying to fit into the community.Putting your mask on —
It's as bright as the clear skies
But as you lie in bed alone —
Only a gleam of hope that'll arise. My friend, there is no one like you
You've got no duplicate, you're unique as you
When acceptance and security were hard to find
God purposefully made you — keep that in mind. You don't have anything to prove
You're precious, loved, and valued
Just stay as special as you are
Take off that mask; escape from the bars. You should focus solely on your mission
Don't be bothered if you don't belong
Don't waste your energy pleasing all people
Be yourself — bring a smile to the lover of your soul.***
