Narae was running through the forest. Her eyes blurry from all the tears that never seemed to be stopping. The edges of sharp leaves split her skin open, tainting her white fur with blood. Her emotional wounds hurted her worse than her physical wounds. Her mind was thrown in chaos, she had no idea what she was supposed to do? The pain of all those memories was crushing her heart, making it impossible to face Soobin again.

Now she recalled why Nephele hated Eshid at first and then gave in to him knowing the boundaries he would cross to make her his. She didn't resist to protect the people I loved.

Suddenly, my paw got stuck in a branch and I stumbled forward and went crashing against the muddy ground falling in a puddle of water. I gasped and shivered when the bone shattering cold water came in contact with my skin reminding me that winters are already here.

The crash had its impact on my body, hurting me all over. I grunt when I tried to move and when I tried to open my eyes, as I tried to stand up but failing badly, the dirty water splashed all over my face causing mud to sweep inside my eyes. Shit! I cursed under my breath. I shaked my head trying to open my eyes.

I sensed someone standing closer to me. I still couldn't open my eyes but, the energy that person exuded sent me shivers. I gasped when I felt warm breaths against my skin. I forced myself to open my eyes just to face a bunch of wolves standing above on the land ogling at me. They had this unwanted pungent smell coming from them. My body alerted as I quickly took steps back just to bump into something and behind me stood a werewolf. He had this unpleasant aura hinting that something was definitely wrong here.

Ah….SHIT! ROGUES.

"If it's not the precious daughter of that proudy Alpha of our enemy pack?" He said and shifted back in his human form.

My heart was trembling violently. I have memories of my past life in which I have fought thousands of werewolves like him. I don't know if I can right now as I have just shifted. The werewolves who have just shifted are actually very weak for a few weeks.

"Your eyes are peculiar? Same as that werewolf whom I only heard in legends," He said, stepping closer. I should run away. I thought, but my feet wouldn't move. As if something was holding me back. I wasn't scared but… I felt angry. I claw on the ground standing there firmly. My eyes glaring at the audacious rogue standing before me. I growled launching myself towards him, strangely movement felt slow. He easily dodged my move.

"On second thought, you can't be the ancient wolf. No way her moves will be as sloppy as you?" I felt anger burning inside me. How dare he doubt my identity? I

Soobin flew across the lush green forest, his eyes scanning the trees even though he could smell Narae's  strong scent of pheromones all over the place. It was making it harder for him to look for her. I sighed, biting my lips to suppress my anger.  I slowly landed on the ground retrieving my wings. These are useless for a werewolf like me. I closed my eyes and tried hard to get my directions right. When a strong metallic scent hit my nose, blood? All the hair on my body stood up at the thought of her being hurt. I lost all my patience and ran as fast as I could following the smell of blood.

I got deeper into the forest, I could only hear rustling of the leaves caused by me and nothing else. It contributed to my anxiety. And, I stopped when the scent of blood felt the strongest. Before me, I saw the stream of blood flowing from the dead rogues. My eyes followed the dead rogues only to see a pair of pale legs. I gulped, raising my head only to see Narae standing there naked completely covered in blood from top to bottom. Her platinum blonde bloodied hair cascading down her hips, grew longer.

She stood there with an expressionless face, staring at the dead bodies of wolves silently. Did she take them down on her own?  I thought. I felt the anger surge in me. I promised to protect her, what kind of mate am I? I can't even protect her. I swallowed all of it, as I walked closer to her and she still did not look at me.

"Narae!" I called her name as gently as I could. I don't know if she was ignoring me or if she was in shock after her first kill. I could sense she was confused. It was at times like this,I wished our bonding was complete.

"Narae!" I called out her name again. She raised her brilliant blue eyes to stare at me. It was the first time I'd seen her look at me that way. She looked hurt, confused all at the same time.

Soobin took off his long jacket and covered her with it. He held her shoulder, ready to pull her closer to himself but she yanked his hand away from her.

She kept looking blankly at him before turning away and she began to walk away from him, not saying anything. And, he frowned not being able to accustom to her sudden change in attitude. He shrugged off his thoughts and simply followed where she was going.
