Chapter 32

Vegas:

-Just as I was about to celebrate the fact that I won't see you much, you guys call us and have to ruin it.

Kinn:

-Well... We didn't have much choice.

Pete:

-Did something happen?

Kinn:

-Not yet. But I need your help, Pete.

Vegas:

-What for?

Kinn:

-How about both of you sit down first?

Vegas:

-We're good.

Pete:

-I'm tired though...

Vegas:

-...okay, we'll take our seats.

Kinn:

-I'll get straight to business then.

They all sat down around the table. Of course Kinn and Porsche were sitting next to each other, while Vegas and Pete sat on the opposite side. Kinn:

-Remember that guy you tortured and almost killed around a year ago?

Vegas:

-...yes. I remember all the people I torture.

Porsche:

-...you do?

Vegas:

-Of course I don't. That's my daily life we're talking about.

Pete:

-And what do you need me for, if you don't mind me asking?

Kinn:

-You see... The guy Vegas tortured is a son of a man my father was close to.

Vegas:

-And?

Kinn:

-In short: this man will throw a party in 5 days. I know cuz everyone from the Main Family is invited there. My father included.

Vegas:

-I don't think your father's gonna make it there, Kinn.

Pete:

-Vegas.

Vegas:

-Sorry, Pete.

Kinn:

-...anyway. He's throwing a party in his own house. Although him and my father were in a good relationship, I'd still like to check his loyalty.

Vegas:

-Is it even necessary?

Kinn:

-Yes. I don't want to trust people who shouldn't be trusted.

Vegas:

-Then don't trust anyone in the first place. Problem solved.

Porsche:

-Can you please hear him out? We wouldn't have called both of you if it wasn't important.

Vegas looked at Pete. He didn't really care about it but if Pete was willing to listen to them, so was he. And Pete did. He just approvingly nodded at Porsche and Kinn continued talking:

-Vegas got away with the torture because he drugged his son, causing him to forget who did it to him in the first place. My father knew it was Vegas but that's all I know. I don't know if he told them it was you or not and since I don't plan on risking like that I can't send you there.
