A Step Closer

“Did you find him?”

“We widen our search and they are still currently trying to locate him,” Beomgyu replied while we’re heading towards the meeting area.

“Where’s Sister Lily?” I asked him.

“She’s now under our custody and the woman’s desk our taking care of her as a witness,” he answered.

“I need to talk to her first,” I replied.

“Sure, once we catch Yang Jeongin and make him confess, we can catch Spades next,” he responded and I nodded.

I went to the woman’s desk and entered a room where Sister Lily is. I saw her sitting, holding a rosary while muttering something I can’t hear. She probably felt my presence and heard the door opens so she looked at me.

“Hello Sister. I’m Choi Yeonjun, a detective handling the Spades case,” I introduced and bow a little.

“H-hi Detective Choi, nice to meet you,” she greeted.

I take a seat across her and she’s anxious. “I’ll be asking right away, Sister. What’s your relationship to Yang Jeongin?” I asked her.

“H-he was one of the kids that after knowing the truth about the orphanage, they started rebelling but before the organization harms him he got adopted,” she explained.

“How about Jeongin’s behavior?” I asked.

“He’s really not that good kid. He keeps on getting in troubles and when he got adopted, his siblings in the new family don’t really like him,” she replied.

I nod. “I see. Now Sister, do you think Jeongin can be the serial killer?”

She gasped and looked away. I saw her held her chest and breathe deeply. “W-well, I don’t want him to be. H-he’s just a victim. I don’t want him to turn out someone like what you’ve mentioned. But if he’s ever be, I pray for his soul to be saved,” she stated.

I scoff and stood up that made her look at me. “Says by someone who’s one of those who turned him to be one. I’m sorry,” I apologized and head out.

“Hyung! We found him! One of his sisters told us where he could be!” Huening rushed.

“Where is he?” I asked as we walk.

“In the private room. Do you want to talk about him first or I’ll let Beomgyu hyung handle him?” he asked me.

“Give it to Beomgyu,” I instructed. “What have you found out with him?” I asked him.

“Robin’s phone and some of the victim’s pictures as well as some murder weapons” he answered.

I stop from walking and looked at him. “Do you think it’s him?” I asked.

He slowly shook his head. “I don’t think those are enough evidence, hyung. Aside from those, we never see anything. It seems like he’s just Spades’ runner or what,” he answered.

“What if it’s him?” I muttered and continued walking.

“Detective Choi! Is it true that you caught Spades already!?”

I stopped and look at Hueningkai who’s also shock by the voice who just asked. “What the fuck is he doing here?” I asked him.

“I-I don’t know hyung. I’ll get him out of here,” he replied and went to Sunoo.
