“Please! Please! I am willing to sell all my organs just please defend my mom, Atty. Kang, I’m begging you take my life if you needed.”

“Student, did you know that we are already defending the assailant. Your tears won’t let us stop doing our job,” Yang Jungwon answered the student who’s already kneeling on the office’s floor.

Taehyun stood up and bent down to the girl closely. “What did your mom do?”

“Hyung—“ Jungwon stopped when Taehyun gestured him to shut his mouth.

“I-it was just a self-defense! She defended me from those fuckers! They always come inside our house and wrecked our things just because we can’t pay on the right time and how the fuck we can do it if they keep on doubling the price!? A-atty. please, don't win the case,” she explained.

“In the first place, why did you allow your mom to rent a house that is clearly operating illegally? Huh? Don’t your mom thinks?” Taehyun asked her.

“Why Atty. Kang? If you are on the verge of death, if you are just eating one meal a day and your mother is still insisting to give you a better life in this fucked up society, wouldn’t you grab the chance?”

Taehyun didn’t react for a second and looked at the girl’s nametag that is pinned on her blouse, “Student Hong Eun Chae, what will you gives me if I’ll withdraw?”

“Taehyun hyung! What are you talking about?” Jungwon butts in because he knew he’s going to be in a lot trouble if he let the older do what he wants.

“My life, everything, I can give you anything—“

“Your life doesn’t equate my salary tho? Get lost.”

“H-huh? Atty! Please! Mr. Kang! Please, listen to me,” she cried and Jungwon dragged him out of the office.

“Phew! I thought you’re really going to accept her offer,” Jungwon commented.

“Jungwon, I already wired you this month salary, check it out,” Taehyun just replied and went to the sofa to take a seat.

“Thank you, Attorney Kang Taehyun— oh, wait,” Jungwon stopped as he saw how many zeroes it has on the recent transaction. “Hyung, this is like my whole two years of working here already, this is too much for a bonus as well,” Jungwon stated.

“This is going to be our last case, Atty. Yang.”

“W-what do you mean by that, hyung?”

“Pack up your things, go abroad tonight and don’t come back and if you want to continue this job, I want you to defend the one who really needs to be protected and not because of money,” Taehyun stated.

“Hyung, why are you saying such things?” Jungwon asked in worried.

“Do you know why I took law?” he suddenly asked.

“Y-you said because it was your dream,” Jungwon replied.

“No, it’s because someone saved me, made me live and gave me shelter and because of what he did, I’m here, being the lawyer of hell,” Taehyun storied.

“But hyung, why are you being like this? I want to stay with you. I want to learn more from you…”

Taehyun just smiled and tap his shoulders. “Go now. You’re officially unemployed in this firm, Atty. Yang. It was a wonderful years being with you and I’m so sorry for dragging you in this firm of hell,” Taehyun apologized.
