Chapter 27

Me, Kunikida, and Junichiro were running through the woods.

"Their car shouldn't be far!" Kunikida said.

We were going to get Noami and Haruno and tell them about the train.

"Finch!" I shouted. He was flying beside me. "Look for the vehicle!"

"Roger!" He said and flew up. He flew back down.

"Where is it?" Kunikida looked at Finch.

"Being lifted by vines."

Junichiro's eyes widened and he ran faster.

Geez, this is really tiring.

I snapped twice and Finch was gone.

We kept running until we stopped.

I saw the blue car Naomi and Haruno were in. They looked scared.

John Steinbeck was looking up at them. H.P. Lovecraft was right by him.

"I don't care what happens to you two." John said seriously with wide eyes.

Junichiro used his ability.

"Snow?" Lovecraft mumbled as a drop of digital snow fell on his palm. "In this season?"

Kunikida appeared behind Lovecraft with me beside him.

I kicked Lovecraft's stomach while Kunikida shot at him. He shot at one of John's vines.

I saw Junichiro grabbing a knife while trying to get Naomi and Haruno out.

My foot was on Lovecraft's head. Kunikida had a gun pointing at John and Junichiro was behind John.
Naomi and Haruno were running off.

"I thought this might happen." John said while smiling calmly. "It seems my sources weren't as reliable as I thought."

Suddenly, John shot a vine at Kunikida. He shot at it and grabbed the end of it.

I kept my guard up.

Kunikida and John then started blabbering about something, I wasn't paying attention.

I was watching Naomi and Haruno run away. I wanted to make sure they'd be alright.

I moved my foot away from Lovecraft's head and watched them.

I noticed Kunikida had John on the ground.

Suddenly, Lovecraft shot up and I fell.

DAMNIT!

"Kunikida!" I shouted and got up.

Kunikida shot as Lovecraft as he walked over to him.

"You're late, Lovecraft." John was smiling while sitting up, "What took you so long?"

"I was sleeping."

"Oh you!"

"Sorry.."

"Junichiro!" Kunikida shouted, "Use your ability to hide!"

Lovecraft's tentecles charged at Kunikida and Junichiro. They lifted them both into the air.

"Junichiro! Kunikida!" I shouted and was about to go after them.

"Sorry, M'lady." I heard John say.

Suddenly, a knife was to my throat.

"Do I have to kill them?" Lovecraft mumbled.

"Just wait for orders. For now, we catch the girls. Let's see where they are now." John said calmly as a vine went into the Earth.
"Also! I'll be borrowing your sister!" He said to Junichiro.

"What do you plan to do with her?!" Junichiro shouted.

"I say they'll torture her."

"YOU BASTARD!" Kunikida shouted.

"Makes me wonder what'll happen to this one!" He poked the side of my face, "I bet they'll do the same to her!"

I felt a rush of anger in me.

"Huh? Is that so?" I mumbled.

I was about to kick him. The knife was held closer to my throat.

"Nuh-uh-uh!" John was happily, "No moving allowed! Just be a good doll and stay there!"

Doll?

I began snickering quietly.

"Huh?" I heard John say.

Kunikida's eyes shot wider.

I started laughing. "Doll?! Is that all you really got?!"

"L/n?!" I heard Junichiro say.

I stopped laughing and mumbled, "Maybe let's not torture me.. What about I torture you?"

"M'lady, maybe-"

"Don't you have a little sister? It would be a shame if her precious little eyes were clawed out."

"JUST WAIT A SECOND!" He shouted. All of a sudden, he was furious.

"The Hazel Wood: My Little World."

John fell to the ground. Lovecraft did as well.

Junichiro and Kunikida fell down too.

"Ow.." Junichiro mumbled.

"Finch.." I said emotionlessly.

"I'm all ears."

"You know what to do."

"Should the sister also be burned alive?"

"No. Go for more of a tortured by a Partygoer. In fact, send one after him too."

"What about Lovecraft?"

"Go make him encounter some Death Moths. Actually, make him embarrassed."

"L/n?! What on Earth did you-" Kunikida grabbed my shoulder.

John was screaming in agony. His eyes were shot wide and tears were streaming down his face.

I stayed quiet while watching him.

"L/n?!" Kunikida looked at me.

"Fear is one thing that can consume anyone.." I muttered, "But you can always overcome it. Most people just never find a way to do so." I looked at Kunikida. "Alright, let's go."

John slowly stood up with wide eyes.

Lovecraft stood up beside him. "...... Where did they go?"

"....Probably hid themselves." John mumbled as he stared at the ground with dead eyes. He clenched his fist, "If I ever see that lady again, I'll make sure her life is mine.."

Suddenly, cars stopped in front of them.

"Freeze! You're under arrest for being a suspect in kidnapping!" An office shouted as a crowd of them had guns pointed at them.

Lovecraft and John raised her hands up.

"Looks like the Agency called ahead of time.." John mumbled.
