Chapter 66

I watched Scout and Cheeto play together.

I sighed and looked at the time. I then looked back at the puppies. "Alright, let's go." I stood up.

They were still playing.

I sighed.

~Time Skip~
"Shiloh! Quit nipping my leg!" I said as I put Rover and Choco down.

The other 3 had followed me to their room.

"Alright, goodnight, my loves." I began walking to the door.

I felt something jump on my leg. Scout was whining.

"No. It's bedtime." I told her.

I moved my leg away and walked out.

I heard Scout whining.

I feel so guilty.. Why does she have to be so darn cute and guilt trip me?

I walked over to the bedroom and opened the door. Chuuya was playing cards with Finch in front of the hot tub.

What are they doing..?

Finch set 4 cards on the pile in-between them both using his talon.

"Bullshit." Chuuya said.

"What?! That's 4 queens!" Finch told him.

Chuuya flipped the cards over to reveal a 5, 8, 2, and a jack.

Finch groaned and took the whole pile sitting between them with his talon.

"What are you both playing?" I asked and sat beside Chuuya.

"Bullshit."

"How do you play that?"

"Give us a second, we're about to be at ace."

Chuuya placed a card down and Finch did as well.

"Alright, so you start at 2." Chuuya showed me a card that read 2. He put it in the pile on the side that doesn't show the number. "Then Finch will put down a 3."

Finch put a 3 down.

"So.. next a 4?"

"Yup. You can also put multiple cards of the number down." Chuuya grabbed three 4's and put them in the pile.

"What if Finch doesn't have a 5?" I asked him.

"Then you can lie. Finch, do you have any 5's?"

"....No, actually."

"Go on."

Finch grabbed a card and placed it in the pile.

"Now, let's say I didn't know he doesn't have any 5's. If I believe Finch is lying, I can call 'Bullshit' on him." Chuuya grabbed the card Finch had placed and showed it to me, revealing a king. "If Finch was lying, he would take the cards in the middle."

"What's the objective of the game..?" I asked.

"To lose all of your cards."

"Oh, wow."

"Wanna try?"

"Sure."

"Alright, we can start the game over."

Chuuya took the cards from Finch and the pile. He placed his cards down as well. He shuffled the deck.

My eyes widened a little.

He knows how to do that? Why do I find that so attractive?

Chuuya began dealing out the cards.

I looked at my cards. There was 10 cards in my hand.
