Chapter Twenty-Five
The car must look like a disaster right now. Who knows how many times we accidentally drove into an object… What are those white lines on the road even for? Well whatever they are for, we are not following the rules to it.
The car is still behind us. Now though, we are on a high way. Unfortunately, it is empty and there are almost aren’t any cars driving on it. It is going to be extremely difficult to run away from the car behind us. Now on this straight road, we aren’t bumping into anything. Aaron is driving at around 110 miles per hour. Surprisingly, it’s not that bad. I just find myself gripping tightly into the seat belt and seat for my dear life. I am soaking wet. Because of our amazing luck, it just keeps raining harder and harder. My tears of sadness earlier have turned into tears of anger. I refuse to allow Kratos to ruin my life and to take everything I love away from me.
And then I have an idea.
“Take the exit.” I instruct Aaron.
Without any questioning or arguing, Aaron simply nods his head.
He speeds up slightly. The exit approaches us. It is getting closer and closer. We are almost about to past it.
“Now.”
Aaron turns the steering wheel and the car swerves to the left.
“Is the car still behind us?” Aaron questions me. He pushes the pedal and we drive even faster.
I spin around backwards, since the window and side mirror are comepletely gone on my said of the car. I observe the cars behind us.
“I don’t think so.”
Now, coming from the highway we enter a more populated area. There are some, not very many though, cars. I cannot see the car that was following us, but it possibly may be hiding behind some of the other cars.
“Drive to the light.” I order.
“Why?” Aaron asks me.
“Just do it.”
Aaron hits the break and drives toward the traffic light, the car not driving in a completely straight line. The light is yellow and Aaron slows the car down.
“Now, when the light turns read, I want you to stop and then immediately drive straight through it as fast as you can.” I instruct him.
The light turns red and Aaron does just as I said. The car, going so fast, makes a skidding sound as we drive the other car nowhere in sight.
