Chapter Six

I just finished taking a shower. I put on a fresh pair of jeans and a long sleeve woolen shirt. My clothes and glasses were somehow all here in this room, probably brought here by my father. I have been thinking about what my father told me before for the past two hours. It’s a lot of information to digest. He is the man that raised me and that will always truly be my father, but I wonder what my real father would be like. I feel like my father is pouring all this information on me and it is a little bit overwhelming. How could I, a 15 year old girl, possibly stop a coward man with a great deal of power. Kratos did after all kill my parents. Now he is in search of me. What if he kills me as well? I will ask my father these questions later. For now, I have to go to where he told me to. I open the bedroom door and walk out into the hallway. Wherever I am right now, it is gorgeous. Wooden floors, chandeliers, and a very long stair case. I walk down the stairs slowly, admiring the house. The railing is made out of wood as well. What did my father say....Second door on the left. I skip off the last few steps. At the end of the stairs, I see an enormous door. It is made out of wood and stone. It must be the entrance. Not wanting to waste any time, I quickly walk to the left. All this is really making me curious. I know that I am safe, because my father, at least the man who has taken care of me and raised me for the past fourteen years, has told me that this is not some joke, but what is this? This is absurd. Just yesterday, I was your average New York girl, with friends, in the 10th grade. Why did this mysterious Kratos man murder my mother? Was she pretty? Did she love me? How could I possibly be related to that monster Kratos? For some reason, although I never knew her, I miss her. Is it my fault that she is dead?

These thoughts keep spinning around my head while I enter the room with a large antique copper door.  On the other side of this door, I see Aaron, my father, a woman, and another man. They are all seated on a long wooden table. There is a single chair left for me. I walk over to it and take a seat. The room is silent. My father clears his throat to break the silence. "Aaron, Lia, I presume that you both know what is happening. Most of the story. Anyways, Aaron, I have spoken to your father. He will be coming tomorrow. Tomorrow is also the day that your training starts."

"Why so soon?" Aaron says, interrupting my father.

"Kratos is coming. It is needed for you two to know how to defend yourselves. Anyways, your trainers will be Veronica Rivera and Michael Chan" my father says.

The woman, whom I suppose is Veronica Rivera, begins to speak. "I will be your trainer. I will teach you lessons that will help you fight Kratos whenever you will come close to him."

The other man, Michael Chan, looks at Aaron and I. "Now, I will assist you both on trying to track down Kratos. It won't be easy. You have to try to hide from and find Kratos at the same time. Your trainings will last only two days. We must hurry. He is coming soon, very soon."

Once he finished speaking, food was brought to the table and we all ate in silence.
