So, I decided to re-write this book since a few of my ideas changed and stuff.
But I’m leaving the old version up cuz, you know, laziness.
So yeah, read.
This is the official sequel of Life As I Know It.

“Leave me alone!” I cried out pleadingly. I glanced over my shoulder but he was still chasing me. I let out a blood curling scream and pushed my feet to move faster. I didn’t know why he was chasing me but I’d been running around aimlessly for hours. I looked around, trying to figure out where I was but I didn’t know. The sound of my name being called made my heart skip a beat.
“Shawna!” the person cried again. I looked up and saw my mother and father standing over me, looking concerned. I stared at them, still in shock. I had been having those dreams for a while and they were getting more and more detailed each night.
“Sorry, I had a nightmare,” I said, sheepishly. I turned to open my bedroom window and winced when the sunlight hit my face. I could’ve sworn it was at least midnight.
“It’s okay, we were all awake anyway. Anyway, when you’re fully awake, come downstairs. We have some good news for you and your brothers,” my mom said, grinning broadly, my father smiled down at her, looking at her with loving eyes. I was never a fan of romance but my parents made me wish I had someone in my life. They left the room and I groaned and shifted on the bed, which ended up in me falling.
Giggling, I got off the floor and ran downstairs where my two brothers and my parents were sitting around the island in the kitchen.
“Morning, sleeping beauty,” my twin brother, Mikael, said smirking at me. I stuck my tongue out at him and sat down. My patted my eldest brother Junior on his head when I sat down.
“So, we have some good news for you,” my dad started, grinning at us. “We’re going to Italy for the summer!” he said. The room went dead silent for a few seconds before me and my two brothers started grinning widely. That was our dream destination. Our family went on vacation every year, we always thought about going to Italy but the passports had always been the biggest issue.
“Really?” I asked, breaking the silence. My dad nodded and I jumped up and hugged him. This meant I might be able to do the music festival in Italy this year. I could probably even get signed with Revolutionary Records if this worked. I went to them a few years ago but they turned me down because I needed more experience although they said I had good talent and I had potential and a love for music that matched no other.
“So, is it just us going?” Mikael asked. We looked at them expectantly.
“No, we’re all going,” my mom said, we didn’t even have to ask who ‘everyone’ was. That was Minzy, Harry, Jhonny, Jade and our cousins, Tamani and Raine. They were our best friends since we all grew up together as our parents knew each other since they were seventeen or eighteen. It still amazed me they were still friends twenty years later; it amazed all of us actually.
“Good morning family!” my cousin, Raine said bursting through the door with Tamani in tow. They lived next door to us with their dad and my uncle, Drew and my aunt, Siobhan.
“Did you hear the news?” I asked her, bouncing up and down in my seat excitedly. She nodded, although she was being subtle her eyes held excitement.
“Time for school,” my mom said. I nodded and flashed another smile at Raine before hurrying upstairs. There was only a month of school left for the seniors and after that I was going to Julliard but I didn’t want to be separated from my friends and family. I grew up with them so it felt weird that in a month I probably won’t be seeing them every day, only on occasion. I sighed and put my clothes on and then ran downstairs. I retrieved my car keys quickly and waited outside for Junior and Mikael. They had their own cars but going to school in three separate cars didn’t make sense to us.
They finally came downstairs and we headed to school quickly. I parked in my spot and both Junior and Mikael hurried out the car making me chuckle. I knew I wasn’t the best driver so I understood their reaction.
“Shawna!” I looked around and smiled when I saw my best friend Jhonny sitting under a tree with his laptop, he smiled up at me and patted the spot next to him, inviting me to sit.
“What’s up, stranger?” he asked. I chuckled and rested my head against the tree, closing my eyes. This is how our friendship was, we could be around each other, not talk and still never get bored and that’s what I loved about it.
“I had another dream last night,” I muttered sourly. He gave me a pitiful look and put an arm around my shoulder.
“Do you know why that’s happening?” he asked, raising an eyebrow. I shrugged and played with my fingers nervously.
“I don’t know but it’s getting more detailed,” I mused.
“Well, I got something for you,” he said grinning. He went into his book bag and pulled out a red gift bag and handed it to me. I took it giving him a curious look. I pulled out a huge white teddy bear that said ‘Sweet dreams’ across the belly, I smiled and engulfed Jhonny in a hug.
“Thank you!” I exclaimed happily. He chuckled and stood up grinning, holding one hand out.
“Shall we?” he asked, as soon as he said that the bell rang.
“I guess I have no choice,” I said, trying my best to sound disappointed. He grabbed my hand and dragged me through the doors of the school. As soon as we entered I saw our friend Minzy leaning against her locker, reading a book. I waved goodbye to Jhonny and headed towards her.
“Hey Shawna,” she said, smiling at me. She pushed her fake glasses up her nose and closed her book.
“Hey, what were you reading?” I asked, glancing at the book curiously. Minzy was always reading, doing school work or talking. She was a nerd and she was quite proud of it, when we were thirteen as a joke I bought her a pair of fake, stylish, black rimmed glasses and she always wears them now.
“This book I found in the library. It’s about the architecture and the flora and fauna around Italy,” she said, grinning excitedly like a little kid. I smiled; everyone was excited about the trip, that much as obvious. I mean they had to be. This was our last chance to really connect because after this we were being separated.
This had to be the greatest experience of our lives.

Sorry, it’s kinda sucky. But it’ll get better, I swear.
