Picture of Harry >>>>>>>>>
So if anyone didn’t understand the last chapter Shawna was kidnapped as a child.
“What do you mean you don’t have a dress?!” my mom exclaimed. I was sitting at the island of the kitchen with Minzy, Raine and Jade. We had been talking about the graduation dance and my mom just happened to pass by when we started talking about dates and dresses.
“I didn’t even know I was going” I explained shrugging.
“Oh dear, well we’re going shopping. Right now” she said, grabbing her car keys from the kitchen counter. Jade and Minzy squealed and stood up. I groaned and got up from my seat.
“I need to get dressed” I said, they all looked down at my music themed night clothes. Raine chuckled and took out her phone to take a picture. “I’d just like to remind you you’re still wearing your sleeping clothes too” I told her.
“So are Jade and Minzy but I don’t care” she said shrugging.
“I can’t go out like this!” I shrieked, but I was actually slightly amused.
“Why not? You look cute” I swirled around when I saw my dad and Junior enter the kitchen. I scowled at him and he raised his hands up in defence.
“It’s true” he said, messing up my hair.
“Ugh! Let’s go!” I said, grabbing my mother’s hand and Minzy, Jade and Raine followed behind, laughing shamelessly.
We started driving around Times Square to start looking for dresses for me. My mom parked and we started walking around, people stared at us. I realize we probably looked bizarre, one well -dressed woman followed by four teenage girls wearing night clothes, but in our defence we had a sleepover last night.
“People are staring” Minzy said, she wasn’t wearing her glasses which only served to make her feel extra self – conscious.
“Because of our fabulous pyjamas” Raine joked. I chuckled as we walked into the first store. They sold decent dresses but none stood out to me. I sighed and looked through a rack of dresses; they were either too extravagant or too plain.
“You like what you see?” Jade asked, resting one hand on my shoulder.
“Nope” I stated. She chuckled and looked through the rack.
“Yeah, these don’t look like your style” she said, studying the dresses.
“Do you have your dress yet?” I asked her. She nodded as she pulled a bright pink dress out and held it against my body. I scowled at the dress; I thought we established a long time ago that I don’t like pink.
“Yeah, but if Harry asks, tell him you don’t know whether or not I have my dress. I want to surprise him” she said.
“Your secret is safe with me. I don’t like this dress” I said, cringing. She chuckled and put it back on the rack.
“I knew you wouldn’t. I was just waiting for you to say something” she said. A woman wearing shades came up behind Jade, she looked familiar but I wasn’t sure, maybe she was a teacher at school or something.
“Can I see that?” the mystery woman asked, Jade shrugged and put the dress in the woman’s hands. The woman had slightly similar features to my mother except she looked drained out. Her fingers were thin and frail and they were trembling slightly. It was obvious she smoked and it looked as if she had been through a lot.
My mother came over at that moment, she gave the woman a lasting look and her eyes widened. She looked as if she was about to have a nervous breakdown.
