I watched as Jhonny and Minzy scarfed down the food from the buffet; it was amusing to watch them although the fact that I didn’t get a chance to tell him put a downer on my mood. I sighed as I looked down at my plate of food. It didn’t look appealing to me as I had lost my appetite. Sighing, I pushed my plate away from me and stood up from the table.

“Where are you going?” Jhonny asked, cocking one eyebrow.

“I’m tired” I mumbled, no bothering to check if he heard me or not, I left the buffet. The bright lights, loud music and constant chatter were only serving to annoy me and I usually loved being in places like that.

I walked down the stony path which led back to the hotel, I wrapped my arms around my body as the cold breeze hit me. When was I going to get the chance to tell him? It was my fault for realizing my feelings so late but still. It seemed like I was holding myself back. Skinny love wasn’t the way I wanted to go this time. I wanted him to know I loved him and I know he loves me.

When I finally reached the hotel, I headed up to my hotel room. Raine and Jade weren’t there. I wondered where they were but shrugged off the thought and lay down on the bed, staring up at the ceiling. I decided that instead of wallowing in self- pity on my bed to go out and do something with my life. I was in Italy right? There was a lot of stuff to do here. Grabbing my guitar case and my jacket, I headed out the door and left the hotel.

I decided to walk to where I wanted to go instead of taking a taxi, I needed some air. As I walked through the city, I watched as people passed by me. They all seemed happy and content. A few couples passed by me and I couldn’t help but envy them. I decided to distract myself by looking at the lights that were stringed to the poles.

I finally made it to the music hall, as usual it was empty. I knew being in an empty building wasn’t safe with Tracy around but I needed space. I doubt anyone would try anything here.

I sat down on the stage and took my guitar out of its case. I started strumming softly as I thought of what to sing. I closed my eyes and finally decided on a song. I sang softly, as if I was basically singing to myself.

How my thoughts they spin me 'round

And how my thoughts they let me down

And how my thoughts they spin me 'round

And how my thoughts they let me down

How my dreams they spin me 'round

And how my dreams they let me down

And how my thoughts they spin me 'round

And how my thoughts they let me down

And then there's you

Then there's you

And then there's you

Then there's you

How my love it spins me 'round

And how my love it's let me down

And how my thoughts they spin me 'round

And how my thoughts they let me down

And then there's you

Then there's you

And then there's you

Then there's you

You know I know who that you love

I've written it on myself, if you can't tell

With a melody that climbs and then falls, then falls, then falls

Without you, without you

How my days they spin me 'round

And how today it sets me down

And how my days they spin me 'round

And how today it sets me down

Alongside you

I opened my eyes when I finished and put the guitar aside. Singing and music had always been a good escape. I felt more relaxed now. Somewhat. I stood up and paced around the stage for a while and then ended up lying down, thinking. There had to be a way to tell Jhonny. My guitar was resting on my stomach and I was strumming it softly as I thought back to all the romance movies I’ve ever watched or the romance books I’ve ever read. How did the heroine tell the guy she loved him?

“Penny for your thoughts?” a voice said from behind me. I looked up to see Jhonny standing on the stage, staring at me curiously. I smiled sadly at him and sat up.

“How did you know where I was?” I asked him, propping myself up on my elbows.

“You’ve been in love with this place ever since Liam brought you here” he said, shrugging and coming to sit down next to me.

“Yeah, it’s a nice place” I said. We lay down in a comfortable silence until I broke it. “Have you ever wanted to tell someone something but you didn’t know how to tell them?” I asked him. He stayed silent for a few before answering.

“Yeah. It happened to me for about three years but then I finally told you I love you” he said, my breath caught in my throat. I had the perfect opportunity now.

“I-” I started but someone barged in the room. It was a security guard. He was not serious about life.

“You two! This is trespassing!” the security guard exclaimed angrily.  Jhonny chuckled and I let out a laugh of my own before getting up and running off the stage, zipping past the security guard and running out the music hall. We were both laughing the whole time.

“So you were going to tell me something?” Jhonny asked as soon as we were far enough from the music hall. I stopped walking and turned to look at him.

“Yeah I was going to say that I-” I started but just then a car came towards at full speed and Jhonny grabbed me by my hand and pulled me away quickly, resulting in both of us falling within a few feet of the car. I watched as the car drove off. I got a close of the driver’s face since the windows were down and gasped when I recognised her. It was the lady I saw when we went to look at prom dresses.

“You okay?” Jhonny asked, helping me up. I shook my head and thanked him.

“That was –grandmother” I said, not being able to form a coherent sentence. Jhonny’s jaw dropped as he stared after the car.

“We have to tell you parents” he said, taking my hand. I nodded and we headed back to the hotel. It was starting to seem like ignoring the situation wasn’t working as well as I had hoped.
