In complete excitement, Huening Kai fell in with the door as soon as he arrived at his home. With his feet, he kicked off his shoes and threw his backpack into the corner next to the coat rack. Then he started a small sprint through the living room into the hallway and finally into the kitchen, where their housekeeper Erin was already preparing dinner. With a full stop, he paused in front of the kitchen island.
"Hey, Erin!" he called out with a grin. "Do you know where my mom and aunt are?"
"Ah, Mr. Huening!" the housekeeper greeted the gentleman of the house with an affectionate smile. "Your mom is in her office and your aunt is currently out of the house, but I'm sure she'll be back soon," she let Kai know.
The slight smile on the woman's full lips still hadn't disappeared, how could it?
After all, Erin was one of the oldest women in the house. Sometimes the brown-haired man even thought that she had brought up not only him, but also his mother, when she sometimes came up with stories of his grandmother, who unfortunately had long since passed away.
However, they were always stories of the female side of his family. Never did the housekeeper talk about Kai's grandfather or his father in general.
Mr. Huening Nabil did not seem to exist.
He was a mystery unto himself.
Therefore, Kai was the only male member of the family.
"Thank you!" he exclaimed, leaving the kitchen and dashing at the speed of light to his room, which was on the upper floor. Immediately the bright yellow, with which some pieces of furniture were painted, shone at him. Together with the matte gray and black, it created a warm atmosphere and made you feel like you were simply at home. Even though the two screens used for gaming attracted most of the attention, one's gaze also fell on the walk-in closet, in front of which Kai stopped. Immediately, as he opened it, the small, built-in lights beamed at him, illuminating the large mirror that gleamed with cleanliness.
He ran his slender fingers over the numerous clothes. The jackets, T-shirts, jackets and sweaters offered a considerable selection. And that's exactly why the brown-haired man was undecided, because there were too many options in his closet. He was looking for the perfect outfit for the evening, but through the agony of choice, he could not decide for the life of him. He pondered, recalling Ethan's style of dress, trying to guess what he might wear. But that was more difficult than he thought, since he only saw him in uniform most of the time.
Desperately, he ruffled through his mahogany brown hair.
Thoughtfully, Kai tilted his head from side to side, eyeing the different styles of his clothes, until finally he laid a bunch of them on the bed and spread them out on top.
Like Picasso, he needed a better perspective.
Still, Kai just couldn't make up his mind.
"Well, my darling, why are you so upset?" he heard his mother's voice ask and looked up at her.
