Clanging dishes and a soft music rumbled in Soobin's ears as he entered the dining hall room. He had shouldered his backpack, let the large double door fall shut behind him, and immediately saw that there were very few people inside today. The bright room was decorated with oblong tables in the color of dull gray. But the glass wall, which led to the inner courtyard of the university and indicated lush greenery with dreamy colorful flowers, made the room look less dreary. In general, MOA always tried to decorate its bare spaces with something colorful, like the bright yellow benches in the entryway.
The aromatic smell of freshly cooked food hit Soobin's nose as he ventured a few steps into the large hall, some girls already turning to him and whispering. But the young man did not get to enjoy a meal, because when other students entered the cafeteria behind him, loud noises penetrated inside. Only now did it seem strange to Soobin that there were so few here today, because otherwise the Mensa Halle was always well attended. But this morning, the MOA students were probably not interested in a delicious meal, but were all standing outside, surrounding someone, and it almost seemed as if there was someone famous in the middle of this circle.
Like paparazzi gone wild, more and more people gathered around what was happening, thus making Soobin curious as well. He approached the scene and the less he was away, the more clearly he could hear the voices of two women violently arguing with each other.
"What's going on here?" he asked after reaching the last row of onlookers, but the answer to his question was not satisfactory to him. They probably didn't quite know themselves why they were standing around. When one of the boys in front of him turned around, he recognized Jaehyun, who, however, only shrugged his shoulders haphazardly, had no idea what was going on and was already making efforts to pursue other activities.
Shortly after, Soobin put a hand on his shoulder in greeting, then pushed his way through the crowd to get to the front, where the scene was unfolding.
"Excuse me," he muttered over and over as some did make way for him, whispering.
The sight that met his eyes then made him gasp briefly. Two girls of the same age were wildly pulling each other's hair, shrieking, cursing, and thus providing entertainment for the audience. Immediately Soobin recognized which girls they were. Moon Byulyi, who was pulled by her long blond hair by her former friend. It looked extremely painful and the girls standing around held their hands over their mouths in shock. No one wanted to be in their shoes right now, no one wanted to fight in front of everyone.
While Beomgyu's ex-girlfriend tried to fight back by scratching, Soobin decided to step in between. Which was easy to say, because the two wild-eyed brawlers didn't even think about keeping their hands off each other. Instead, the dark-haired girl grabbed Byulyi by the ear and almost ripped out one of her earrings, if Soobin hadn't pulled the blonde behind him with a strong jerk. Even though he was quite a bit taller than the two female students, he couldn't deny that he was briefly afraid of getting clawed as well. Snorting, his former good friend freed herself from his grip, trying to calm herself by taking deep breaths, while Soobin looked back and forth between the two, waiting for an explanation.
