Ethan had let a few days pass since Lay had shown up in front of the university. That he had also found out on the same day how Kai felt about him had been another shock he had to deal with. And once he had managed to get his thoughts in order, his first port of call was his friends. He needed to talk to them about it, needed different perspectives to make a final decision. After all, Ethan didn't know how to handle it.

Should he bring it up to Kai, even though he had never actively tried to make a pass at him?

Or ignore the fact and wait for him to come clean?

What should he do?

To answer this question, Ethan had asked his friends to spend Friday afternoon with him, and they had all agreed. They were, of course, immediately willing to help their buddy with whatever was on his mind. They appreciated the smart Korean and besides, it was very rare that Ethan, of all people, suggested a meeting. He could use such a day, because he hadn't been able to have fun with them for a long time. And they all knew how much he was working away, be it with the university or with the cinema.

Ethan was sometimes so hard-working and determined that he forgot his own feelings.

But the thing with Lay had set him back quite a bit, you could see that immediately. Also, the fact that Kai seemed to have feelings for him that went beyond their initial friendship was very confusing to Ethan. He was a bit relieved that he hadn't gotten to see the brown-haired man much since then.

I wonder if he would eventually notice that his MP3 player was missing.

Or more importantly, would Kai eventually confess his feelings to him?

Ethan himself didn't know what he was feeling right now.

He wasn't even sure if he had gotten over the thing with Lay, because he still visited his mind palace frequently. It worried him even more to know now that his tutoring student actually wanted more, just didn't say it.

The decision, so the friends could probably meet, fell on the bowling alley.

All four knew that Ethan loved bowling, but never really had time for it. It really had been a while since he had picked up one of those polished balls. When he was younger and going to high school, he had tended to have some time left over to pursue the sport and hang out with friends. But currently, with all the school and mental stress, he had never gotten around to it.

Even though he was extremely looking forward to the boys' night, the mood was somewhat depressed. You could tell right away that his thoughts were actually elsewhere. Especially because they were his friends and knew him well.

Ethan was good at keeping his feelings to himself, but nothing escaped Joshua and Namjoon!

Even as Ethan entered the building and headed for the counter where bowling shoes could be rented, he felt an unpleasant rumbling in his stomach. He had been here many times with Lay, and even the smallest things reminded him of his ex-boyfriend. So he shook his head, willing the straw blond out of his mind, and accepted the shoes the worker had placed on the wooden counter. Ethan entered the lane and also spotted his two university friends and his workmate Hoshi sitting on a bench.
