For half an hour now, Choi Beomgyu's head had been aching as he sat at his desk, surrounded by stacks of books and notebooks that already rivaled those of Seoul. And for quite a while now, he had been resting his chin on the palm of his hand and sighing incessantly.
Sighing miserably ...
Because he was so annoyed by all the studying.
Since the birthday party, his exams had not been very good. Beomgyu noticed it in the results, at the same time he also knew what place he now had on the board. While everyone was so excited about Kai climbing the ladder and Taehyun was so fixated on his own first place, none of his friends got to see how slowly Beomgyu was approaching the precipice. For this reason, he had to get as much information into his head as possible within hours. He had long since lost track of everything. His brain was already smoking and he reached for the small notepad, but not without making another annoyed sound. But before he could write down the desired note, he was torn out of his concentration by a heavy knock on his balcony door.
Startled, the black-haired man flinched. His head darted in the direction of the sound and immediately caught sight of a huge figure peeking out from behind the half-drawn curtain. Beomgyu recognized there none other than Choi Yeonjun, who had pulled his hood deep into his face.
Who else could it be?
No one but his best friend used that entrance. Or even bothered to climb up the balcony. His other friends also simply rang the front doorbell. Actually, it was completely normal that Yeonjun took the way through the balcony door and should not surprise the black-haired man, but today it annoyed him.
He didn't like how natural it was for Yeonjun to just show up at his place without announcing it beforehand.
Yes, not even to call.
He was almost thinking of a way to reprimand the elder, when he noticed Yeonjun's bleary eyes, close to tears, standing in front of the glass door with his shoulders slumped. As if he had the worst days behind him, the student wiped his face with his sleeve, underlining just how beat up he looked.
So Beomgyu got up, relented, and opened the door for the uninvited guest.
"Thanks...", Yeonjun muttered softly, also immediately walking past the handsome black-haired man and into his room, dropping miserably onto his large bed with a sniffle. This sight was horrible, as he not only looked devastated, but leaned his elbows on his knees, then tussled his hair. Yeonjun would have loved to cry out loud, but he was still trying to suppress the tears that this entire situation had caused.
"What's wrong?" it was his best friend's question which left his lips rather reluctantly. However, Beomgyu felt that the elder probably needed someone to talk to and the sooner he talked about it, the sooner he could get better.
And after this question, there was only silence for a few seconds.
Silence in which the boy with the pitch-black hair sat down next to his buddy. Longer Beomgyu had thought about whether he should really sit down with him or just stand still. But the rich young man's condition tempted him to join him.
