The shock was still far too deep in Lee Heeseung's bones when he let the door of his house fall shut behind him. The encounter with Lay had shaken him up so much that he couldn't even remember how he had gotten home and whether he had said goodbye to Kai and his friends. His thoughts circled around the subject of Lay. And even now, as he slipped his shoes off his feet, he still hadn't managed to get that subject out of his mind. He kept wondering what had driven his ex-boyfriend to think it was Kai who had caused the breakup.

He wondered why the blond didn't realize that his jealousy had been to blame. It was jealousy that had sent Ethan running.

As he placed the house key on the small table next to the door, he still had a queasy feeling in his stomach. Even more so when he heard his grandparents talking to each other. Lately Ethan had been very silent with them and the worried look his grandmother eyed him with every morning sat deep in his neck. They knew and could sense that he was going through a breakup phase. Although he was careful not to bring up the subject.

He didn't want his grandparents to worry about him.

When the young man entered the kitchen, he immediately spotted his grandfather at the dining table. The older man held today's newspaper in his hand, although he had certainly read it earlier today, pushing up his glasses, which kept slipping down. His grandmother, on the other hand, sat in the large, comfortable armchair in the corner of the room. She wore a steady smile on her lips as she crocheted and stared intently at one of her familiar tablecloths. Of which she already had more than five. Ever since she was young, she loved to create them in any colors and shapes. It had almost become an addiction for her and she enjoyed then giving her copies away to friends and relatives. The old woman was a kind-hearted person and put all her love into these crochets.

"Heeseung," the grandfather murmured in surprise after seeing his grandson sneak over to the sink to get a glass of water. He stopped abruptly and turned to the older gentleman a little tensely. "How was it at the university?" the old man added as a question.

Of course, they knew that today was the big day when MOA students got some of the exam results. It was an even more important day for Heeseung, who placed a lot of importance on getting good grades so that he could have a decent job later on. Ethan had always dreamed of being able to help his grandparents out of financial trouble, and today he was a big step closer to that dream.

"It was good, almost straight A's," he told his grandparents, who immediately had high praise for their favorite grandson.

"I didn't doubt that at all, my darling," said the woman in her armchair, and the smirk on her thin lips still hadn't disappeared. She was so proud of her grandson that she couldn't stop.

"It went well with Kai, too," Ethan informed them further, even though they hadn't asked about it, nevertheless he was sure that especially his grandmother hadn't forgotten about the brown-haired man. With a gentle smile, he turned the glass back and forth in his hands. He was still glad that he could help the elder. "By several grades, in fact, he has improved." There was no denying that Ethan's big ears turned slightly red and warm when he spoke of the elder he was tutoring.
