ALESSIO

I dropped heavily on my office chair and poured some wine in a glass to calm down my nerves. Blood was pouring out of my wound as the attack was a bit brutal but I still survived. I pressed on the wound when there was a knock on the door.

"Come in!"

Cassio walked in with the male nurse who hurried towards me. He started treating my arm as Cassio stood and witnessed all of it. I took a gulp from my glass when Cassio glared at me, "Seriously Alessio? Wine?"

"Seriously mother? Whines?"

His face plastered mock confusion when I understood and made an O sound, "Ohhh. I forgot we weren't texting so the grammar, spelling and punctuation were unknown to you. Your wine was the drinking one, my whine directed to you was the annoying and irritating persistent nagging that you do. Smile."

I smiled at him when he narrowed his eyes at me and pointed out, "See? THAT line was perfectly clear as to where which punctuation mark was placed, and where the sarcasm started and where it ended."

"Mirror image?"

"Perfect."

"Not even an assymetrical one?"

"Symmetrically bloody perfect."

I nodded and the male nurse was done. Giving some medicines to Cassio, he left when I looked at him, "I'm not having any meds."

"Aless-"

"Save it. You know from day one that I refuse to take medication."

He sighed and sat in the seat placed in front of my table, "If you die, your newly wed wife would become a widow."

"Throw her in the streets for all I care."

His features twisted in pain before he recomposed his posture, "Bit harsh for my liking."

I took another long drag from the the glass, my voice coming out heavier than before, "When did I ever do things according to your liking?"

He relaxed back, "Do you think the mafia would have progressed further if I was at the seat?"

"No."

He placed his hand on his heart, "Harsh. But why?"

I got up, retrieved a bottle of alcohol from the glass cabinet and poured some into the glass, "Pussies get killed first."

"You literally didn't bang your wife."

I deadass looked at him, "Deadass?"

He chuckled and shook his head, "Kidding. Go easy on her, she is sweet."

"You spent time with her?"

He gave me a duhhh look, "With you as her husband? I, obviously stood no chance. But I know a scared one when I see one. She is petrified and I can see right through her. Go easy on her, man."

"Cass, let me do what I have to do."

He sat forward as I sat in my seat when he looked at me, "You treating her bad might worsen your image and-"

"Worsen? Isn't it already?"

He was silent for a few seconds when he whispered, "No."

"And how the fuck can you say that?"

"Because I respect you in my eyes. I am that one answer sitting right in front of you. Don't be too harsh on her that-"

I smacked my lips tasting the alcohol when I stared at him, "You really thing a little girl can make us develop distances?"
