TEN MONTHS LATER
CASSIO
I entered the club, as the acting capo of the Romanian Mafia. Cold air whiffed through my hair when I saw bodies and bodies of naked men and women merging into one another. I could see half drunk women falling at the feet of men who were practically enjoying it, loving the wilful submission at the feet of the masses. Passing by the waiter, I did not grab the alcohol because I didn't want to find myself in the same situation, especially now that I had taken over. I couldn't lose more, I had already lost enough.
Alessio was offline since two years and nobody could find him. We tried a lot, Mr. Romanno tried a lot, his children, his brother's entire family and his sister's entire family as well, joined forces but to no luck. I had tried to keep the mafia in place but it was slowly slipping out of my hands, the whole empire slowly crumbling, and before it could ruin into pieces? I decided to put in some action. We lost thirty billion dollars and I had never had more of a depressive phase.
Trying to get the money back, we got attacked two times, and in total, we killed barely thirty men while lost two hundred and fifty. Our home was attacked once and they managed to get hold of Jamie, but thank to the God above, Avelina arrived on time. She managed to kill the guy before anything could happen to Jamie. Jamie was traumatized, but we were trying our level best to make him feel okay, getting therapists, making her sign NDAs and still not trusting anyone in this world anymore? Yeah, one could say I was having a pretty difficult time.
Avelina would have panic attacks at random times of the day because she would miss her husband. I had asked her to formally appeal to the court and just get a divorce done because Alessio was gone for two whole years now, and we knew nothing. We had no clue if he was even dead or alive, it was radio silence for too long now. Enough for us to finally let it go and move on. So why spend all the time alone? She was young, beautiful, smart and quite attractive. She had her whole life ahead of her and the times in Paris showed how she still had to live up to HER potential. So why keep waiting for a man who was possibly dead and might never show up ever again? She could easily move on, roam the world, study what she liked, adventure and mess with life until she could finally see a guy she could fall in love with, find herself picturing herself settling with him and when she thought the time was right? She could marry him, have his kids and just move on, instead of waiting for Alessio for the rest of her life. If it was in the stars? It would have happened by now, but time was constantly convincing us that that chapter had ended a long time ago, we were just holding onto it with false strong hopes.
And if Alessio was to show up? I don't think he would be affected that much with Avelina having moved on, he would understand. Two years is a lot to wait for someone who isn't even there.
I passed by naked women lying on the floor, their mouths wrapped around penises of drunk men as they sucked them in. I roamed my eyes through the whole crowd when I made my way up to the VIP room. Garid, the underboss of the American mafia, sat there waiting for me. My jaw clenched when I looked at that irritating itch in the eye, but still decided to get done with this meeting.
I closed the door, my snipers standing outside when I sat in the seat in front. He smiled that disgusting, shit eating face smile, "Ahh, Cassio-"
"Get straight to the fucking point."
And he did. Oh yes, he did.
"Where's Alessio?"
"What has my brother's whereabouts got to do with you?"
"I need to know as to where he is."
"And I will not tell you, do whatever the fuck you want with that information."
