ALESSIO

I stood behind the wall waiting for Avelina to come with a bouquet of blue flowers wrapped up in silver sheet and ribbon in my hands. I hated red flowers with a passion since a long time and always just remained away from them, as far as my beaten heart could allow. They were the same flowers that covered the graves of the people I loved a lot. And since then? I hated them.

I was wearing my regular suit pants with a white dress shirt and suit coat, had my Rolex wrapped delicately around my wrist and my hair were a bit ruffled up because that was how I liked it. I tapped my foot against the floor waiting for Avelina to arrive when the sound of heels against the floor made me alarmed. I wanted to flee right this instant and stop all of this madness.

I was better off without Julianna or Avelina, and it was better this way. Falling for her, giving her love and letting myself grow weak again in the name of love was stupid. It was madness at my end and it was utter nonsense and stupidity for all that mattered. I knew Avelina wasn't meant to be in such a relationship and it was better to let go of her so that she could enjoy life and find her own partner for herself. Not have someone forcefully thrown at her head.

I looked at the flowers in my hand and just wanted to throw them away. It was stupid. It was mad stupid to do this when just as I was about to turn around and abandon all of this, she emerged in view and my heart dropped lower than I ever knew the depths even existed. Cassio then emerged behind her and frequently ran his eyes all around trying to find me when they finally settled on me. He nodded when I just blinked my eyes once as response. I didn't like this. I did not like the image of this at all.

Avelina was wearing a dark emerald green dress, a cross pattern covering her entire cleavage and running over the top of her shoulders so you could barely see her neck. It ran down all the way till the her calves, a sinfully beautiful body right on display for my eyes to goggle at. Her arms were bare, she had her father's given necklace around her neck and no other jewellery than that. There was a slit in her leg revealing the whole length of it deliberately stopping right next to her panties. My cock twitched in my pants when I adjusted my mind again. This wasn't right. This was so wrong.

Avelina looked around when her eyes landed on the only one table on the rooftop. It had candles all around them, roses scattered around on the table and on the floor, strings of led lights surrounding the whole table and the entire balcony. The table had a velvety rug with a red strap of another smaller rug placed diagonally on it. It looked beautiful. It looked fucking beautiful when my heart tugged again.

Why was life so cruel? Why did it hurt so much? Why was..... why was love so expensive? Expensive enough to cost you your whole sanity.

Why were some people so good while some worse than devils? Why do the good people get tested in the most brutal ways possible while the devils..........

I shivered at the thought when my eyes warmed seeing Avelina. Avelina meant a bird, or bird-like, sensing to someone having a very sweet nature, and the name fit her so perfectly. She was innocent, beautiful, smart, sexy and very sweet for anyone's liking. She looked like a lamb who could be torn apart by any predator and I was the first one to do that.

I suddenly wanted to train her to protect herself, be able to live alone and not depend on any man but there were two hinderances. One, Cass was already teaching her self defence and two, if I worked with her more? I would fall harsher than right now and I don't think that's something I could deal with. It was dangerous and where I loved to play with dangerous things? This, surely, wasn't one of them. Love, surely, didn't make it in.

Avelina turned around to Cassio, hugging her arms to herself, "Don't get me wrong, this is nice and quite beautiful but doesn't it seem a bit.....a bit...."
