AVELINA

We all stood in the training room when Cassio was about to speak with the crew. He had officially taken over as the capo and he would be training people now. There was still this dense air around us because it was weird to see someone else instructing the new batch instead of Alessio. I had only witnessed him do it once but that was enough to make me shiver. He was extremely harsh with the newbies but upon his explanation that he had to do this to recruit one of the best and the toughest  warriors, was when it all made sense. And I agreed with him.

Cassio came to me, "You okay?"

Something caught in my throat when I just nodded. A lump large enough for my voice box to completely give up was what it took for my heartfelt feelings to rise to the core. My mind drifted back to the past when I had hid behind a pillar and had watched my husband welcome the new training batch.

Alessio didn't know I was standing behind the pillar but one look at him and I could feel myself closing my legs to lower the ache between them. He was wearing dark black pants, had a tight black dress shirt which was outlining his abs in the most perfect way possible. Anyone could see each and every slab of ab muscle on his chest, making him look like a perfect man sculpted by the best artist out there. He had a slight stubble, his hair was a bit messy, giving a just-got-out-of-bed look, his hands were clenched into fists, veins decorating the entire length of his arm, making me feel the same tingling feeling I felt when I first saw him heading down the stairs towards the training arena, making me feel the presence of a beating within my lower regions.

Veins always did something to me, and would always catch my attention. I could properly make out the tree of veins over his arms, decorating his hand and also over his forehead. His face was clenched, his chin hard enough to cut through glass without making a noise.

Alessio roamed his eyes over the crowd, people clearly shaking because of him personally attending the first session. Alessio's eyes turned darker than his usual, when his stance screamed power, dominance and severe authority and his gaze held the promise of death if betrayal was the stimulating factor to even get there.

Cassio was standing a bit behind him, observing the whole scene when everything happened so sudden, I was quite sure that I had hallucinated it. Because no way in hell did it happen this fast.

In a matter of a few milliseconds, Alessio had his hand in his backpocket, from where he took out a knife and threw it through the air, rightttttt past a boy's ear, not grazing it a bit. There were gasps all around the room and he was about to faint when Alessio snapped his fingers at him, "You drop to the floor, you are dead."

There was pin-drop silence in the room when the boy managed to stand on his feet. Alessio pinned him with a glare and spoke, his voice dominating the entire room, and clearly showing as to who was the boss, "I deliberately didn't hit you, that was my intention. You all-" his eyes roamed over everyone when he continued, "need to be skilled enough to make sure as to you achieve what you set your eyes and heart on."
