ALESSIO
All of my family gathered around as it was time for our gender reveal and I couldn't have been more excited. Julianna and I had some rough nights, where her pain would shoot up bad to the point that she would start crying and I did all that I could do to help her. I would always accompany her to hospital visits, hold her hand, calm her down, help her sit up a bit to properly look at the monitor seeing our baby and would wipe away her tears of joy and kiss her to make her feel better.
It was the gender reveal today and my little sister, Geneviève, was managing it. Julianna and I stood next to each other when she turned to me and I immediately understood that she needed a hug. And so, opening my arms, I pulled her in when she tightened her arms around me and laid the side of her face against my chest. I held her close and kissed the top of her head when she looked up at me, placing her chin against my heart.
Pouting her lips, she got me wrapped around her fingers when I bent down and kissed her. The world silenced around us and it was just the two of us when I conveyed through my kiss for how much she meant to me. Parting apart, she looked into my eyes, "What do you want?"
I placed my forehead on top of hers, "Any. As long as the baby and the mother are okay? I am happy. I really don't care about the gender, the fact that it's our baby is what makes every second of this so fucking special."
Gratitude and love flashed across her eyes when she whispered, "I love you."
Kissing her nose, I placed my forehead over hers again and touched our noses together when I whispered back, "And I love you too."

We both twisted the party popper together and waited for the confetti to spring out when just as it was about to done, we heard someone shouting. The popper launched but we all looked back to see someone's girl shrieking because she saw a rabbit and was practically scared of them. I was adjusting to this when we heard a roar and a crowd-full of applauses. I had just turned my head to see the colour when two things happened simultaneously, making my heart scream in utter fucking happiness. I saw the pink confetti coming down and heard people screaming, "IT'S A GIRL!!!!!!"
I jumped and fist-bumped the air, running to Julianna who was already coming my way when I picked the pregnant mother up and moved in circles as she held onto me and laughed. I was happy. So. Fucking. Happy to be having a daughter as my first-born child. Placing Jules down, I grabbed her face and just kissed her, having no voice to actually let her know for how much this meant to me.
I was having a girl.
A little bossy princess in the house.

I called my mother who picked up the call, "Alessio, this better be quick and worth it because I am sooooooooo close to shaving your dad's head off."
I chuckled, "Why, what did he do?"
"He is just annoying me for no reason."
"He loves you."
"Yes. And you were the result. Not quite fond of it."
Heat crept within my cheeks when I coughed, "Umm, I need advise."
"Pull out is better than condo-"
"MOM!"
She laughed and I heard a smack when my heart turned cold. All bubbliness vanished within me when I asked, "What was that? You good?"
She chuckled, "Oh yes, I smacked your dad."
My heart continued it's beating again when I smiled, "Cute. I need advise. ON SOMETHING ELSE!" I added as afterthought.
