I'm so confused right now. After the surprising exclamation of loyalty, virtually everyone within Slytherin has been treating me like royalty but the teachers seem none the wiser. Of course, I haven't mentioned anything to Dumbledore or the others but...I mean...surely they should have noticed something's up by now!

Valentina: You're still worried, aren't you?

Me: Am I that easy to read?

Valentina: We've known each other for what now amounts to hundreds of years. Of course, you're easy for me to read.

Me: Great boost to my confidence-

Valentina: If being around you has taught me anything it's to simply go with the flow.

Me: This is different.

Valentina: True...

She gestures behind us where I find the two girls on duty to "attend to my every whim" standing nearby. They perk up the minute they notice they are the object of our focus and one of them curtsies before asking if I'm ready for afternoon tea.

Valentina: It isn't all bad...

Ignoring her, I nod at the girl and watch as both get to work setting up a table and pouring me some tea before withdrawing into the shadows as if to give us privacy.

Me: I feel like everyone's watching me now.

Valentina: Queen of Hogwarts? Your Majesty...

She completed her teasing with the most over-the-top bow possible, her hand going as far as brushing against the floor as she manoeuvres her body elaborately.

Me: Haha. Not funny.

Valentina: I don't know. It felt so to me.

I playfully slap after her but the fiend uses her vampiric speed to evade me before pulling out the chair for me to take a seat.

Valentina: At least enjoy the tea before it gets cold.

Me: No arguments there.

Sitting, I take my first sip to find that it is to my liking. I'm on my third serving when anyone speaks.

Mcgonagall: There you are. We've been looking all over for you.

I turn to find Professor Mcgonagall walking my way. With her is a man who I've seen once during my time in the muggle world as a princess and a new face I've never seen before but am instantly wary of. The girls attending to me seem to also have the same idea as they immediately make their presence known, brandishing their wands.

Mcgonagall: What is the-

????: Avada Kedavra!

Almost reflexively, my hands raise putting up a shield that blocks the spell barely giving a moment's pause before the girls fire back.

Fiona: Incendio!

A large ball of fire blasts by but is immediately countered by a jet of water coming forth from one of our attacker's wands. Professor Mcgonagall, as if only just realising what is happening, turns around to face the enemy but immediately gets bound by magic and drops like a log.

????: Avada Kedavra!

Me: Letum!

Both our spells collide sending shockwaves across the terrace but I'm the first to recover and fire my spell again. It hits true and immediately, the foe begins decomposing before our very eyes, falling to bits of crumpled skin and bones.

????: You...you-

Valentina: mors maledictio!

The other man falls dead on the spot and with his death, the terrace becomes eerily quiet. Valentina looks around to make certain we're alone before finally lowering her guard.

Valentina: Well, that explains a lot.

Fiona: How dare they attack in broad daylight!

Me: Is everyone alright?

Fiona: Lady Cassandra, I must request that you teach us your spells so that we may better protect you.

Me: I-

Fiona: At the very least, teach us the shield you just used.

Me: I don't think it'll be that easy. These are spells I created on my own for my own use.

Fiona: But Lady Valentina uses them!

Me: Err...well, we kind of have a different relationship where that kind of stuff is concerned.

Fiona: I-

????: Crucio!

Fiona drops to the ground, a blood-curdling scream bellowing from her lips. Whipping my head around, I find a woman laughing maniacally while barely balancing herself on the ledge. Fury overtakes me and before I'm even aware of what I'm doing I'm in front of her with my fist hurling towards her throat!

????: EEEP!

She seems surprised to see me before her and momentarily gets distracted from the curse but she's not quick enough.

Me: Die!

I don't even manage to punch her before she slips and falls. I watch as she struggles, expecting her to use magic to save herself from the fall but my expectations must be too high because soon after a soft thud tells all that needs telling of her demise.

Me: We're not safe here.

Valentina: I can think of no safer place than Hogwarts.

Me: I'm not talking about Hogwarts. I mean the terrace.

Valentina: That I can agree on...but-

She nudges her head in Fiona's direction where the poor thing lies folded in on herself and whimpering. Stella, her best friend, tries comforting her but it is clear she'll need time.

Sigh

Me: Restituo...

A green light emanates from Fiona's body for a split second before she falls silent. Stella looks at me with terror in her eyes but I merely shake my head before turning away.

Me: I didn't kill her. She's simply resting. She'll be fine in a few hours.

Stella: I-I thank you.
