Chapter 16: Knighthood Ceremony Mayhem

Date: August 19th, 2023

The original plan for the latest Miitopian knighthood ceremony was to have it take place after we killed Pmurt Nedib. However, we didn't account for the fact that we would all need some time to recover. I may be a zombie now but even I need time to recover from what has happened. The energy I collected through unsavory means from the Nightmare Realm is what is allowing my body to act like a normal body. That being said, I can't bleed anymore and my heart no longer beats. What most of us didn't expect was the chaos that was about to unfold at the knighthood ceremony. The first ever one after the war and it just didn't really go to plan. Let me explain by reflecting on what happened. The afternoon of August 19th, myself and many other BRAINS members were standing around, mingling, or helping out with the knighthood ceremony. We were going to be honoring several warriors who have passed the trials to becoming a knight. Since I became a knight, they have changed. Well, the first one stayed the same. But the other two. That was a different story. In the 2nd trial, aspiring knights don't have to overcome ridiculous odds like I did. They just have to show off their technique, resilience, and so on in a one on one fight with one of the strongest knights in Miitopia. If they actually managed to miraculously win, they didn't have to do the 3rd trial because that's no small feat. The final trial involves undergoing a simulated boss battle now that the monsters of Miitopia get along with everyone. It's basically like my final trial but without the risk of real injury or death. All that is simulated as well. The simulation is all thanks to Dominic, Robert, Dr. Bonesbane, and other scientists working together to make it into reality. Recruitment for the knights has also changed to be done through many more means than traditional mail.

With that all explained, here's what I was doing. I was helping with the decorations when the first moment of chaos took place. Pinkie Pie who was also helping somehow got trapped in a banner. I was helping give the dining room of the knights a new coat of paint when this happened. I'm still not that used to paint rollers so it was a surprise I didn't cause an accident first. That's when I heard her scream: "Aaaaaa! Somecreature help me! I'm stuck!" I put the paint roller down and ran to her once I saw her situation. "Pinkie Pie! What did you do this time?" I reach her and start trying to pull her out. "Swiftdrawer! Thank goodness you're here! I was just trying to put up this banner up! That's all! I accidentally stepped on it and my hooves started sinking into it!" Discord shows up: "Oh my! Oh my! Looks like Pinkie Pie fell for my little prank!" "DISCORD! Wait.. HAHAHAHAHA!" "I'm not even surprised. Good one, Discord." I start laughing too. Discord joins in. "It's about time you laughed, Swiftdrawer!" "Did you really have to rub in the fact that it's harder for me to laugh nowadays? Well then, we better finish decorating as the ceremony was a good excuse to renovate this base. Sorry to move on like that but we only have a few hours and I'm still kind of recovering so no Artist's Eye today." Some time later, all the decorations are finished. That's when Barla comes to me: "Hey ya! Are you ready for the ceremony? It's going to be awesome! Hell yeah!" "Aye. Of course I am! With you and Dominic among those playing a part in it this time, it's really going to be something special. A blend of tradition and unconventional. Such a fusion cannot be simply captured by art."

A sudden loud crash is heard. I look over and see Carlos on the floor with a furious Madeline and serious Dominic staring down at him. "What the hell did Carlos do this time?" "That's what I want to know." "It's a nap causation except it actually isn't. Carlos had one of his candy moments again." "How is that even possible? There's no candy here." "CARLOS, YOU DON'T GO TO ANOTHER UNIVERSE JUST TO GET CANDY!" "..I'm just going to step back and let you two handle things. There's still a few things to do before the ceremony starts. My armor and sword still need care and maintenance. Been too busy recovering and taking on responsibilities to take care of that. I'm also going to write down what I know that I haven't yet about the next conflicts and share the information in the group chat for the entire collective." I walk away quickly before anyone says anything. I head to the training area within the Knights of Miitopia base to take care of my sword and armor. Once there, I sit down on a bench right by where the resources to take care of swords, guns, daggers, and armor are within arms reach. I take my cape off and set it next to me. After that, I take my armor off piece by piece and remove my sword from its scabbard. After taking care of my sword and armor, I put everything back on and slide my sword back into its scabbard. As I leave the room, I inadvertently crash into a running Beerus. "Watch it, mortal!" "Sorry Beerus! I didn't see you running." "NEXT TIME, YOU BETTER MAKE SURE TO SEE ME RUNNING! IM ON THE HUNT FOR DELICIOUS CUISINE!" "Okay then. I'm not surprised. If you find any food that's just lying around for some reason, I'm certainly not going to care. But be careful- Oh, nevermind. You're a God of Destruction. Simple germs really can't do much to you, can they? Anyway, I'm going to the room where the ceremony's taking place."
