☆ 3rd person POV ☆

When (M/n) found out his half-brother was one of the dragonets of destiny, he was ecstatic. However, he wasn't sure how Clay would react to him. His half-brother saved the world after all, and he was just... him.

Considering this, he was anxiously excited to attend the school that his relative helped build.

Autumn held her son, (M/n), close. She was hesitant about allowing her son to be at this... Jade Mountain Academy or whatever it was called. She glanced up at the large mountain that the school was carved into with an unsure expression across her snout.

She looked down at her dragonet with a high fondness for the bundle of joy, with his (e/c) eyes reflecting at her. Then, a memory flashed in her mind.

That day was dark. The sky was filled with violence, between IceWings and MudWings. White and blue clashed with browns and oranges. Fallen soldiers on each side of the battle.

Suddenly, a MudWing screamed in horror at a dastardly sight. Her eggs! Eggshells littered the ground around the nest. Only one egg was left unharmed. The smallest in the clutch. The mother quickly grabbed her egg and flew to safety. Then, going forward, she promised herself that she would keep her dragonet safe, no matter what, even if it broke the MudWing tradition.

" Mom? ", The small voice broke Autumn from her thoughts.

" Oh, my apologies. Just thinking of something. You do not need to worry, (M/n). ", Autumn answered, hugging her son with her wing once more.

" Can you believe that I'm related to one of the dragonets of destiny? ", (M/n) inquired, excitedly, bouncing just a bit on his (s/c) talons.

Autumn let out a chuckle at her son's enthusiasm. He was not often this excited, being more laid-back, but loving. She loved her son more than anything, so it pained her heart to see him go. He was the only good thing that came from that breeding night and that bloody battle.

She gazed over at the other parents, waving their dragonets goodbye. SeaWings, SandWings, and even NightWings. There were no other MudWing parents in sight, except for her. But, it didn't matter.

" Will you remember to write? ", She asked her dragonet.

" Yes, mom. I will. ", (M/n) nodded, having a smile across his snout.

" Good. Run along now. ", She gestured, hesitantly, slowly releasing (M/n) from the grip of her wing.

-

(M/n) felt his heart skip a beat as he walked into the walls of Jade Mountain Academy. His (e/c) eyes searched the space, noticing all the different kinds of dragons. He didn't recognize any of them... even the MudWings among the crowd. Was his half-brother not here?

He felt his heart sink at that possibility. Should have he even come in the first place? Maybe, Clay was still here.

He shook himself from his thoughts when he finally recognized one of the dragons, Princess Tsunami. His mother informed him that his sib traveled with four together dragons. And the SeaWing that she illustrated fits the description of this dragon. But... he had to make sure.

" Uhm... excuse me? ", (M/n) peeped out, anxiously, as he walked over to the tall SeaWing.

" Yes? ", The SeaWing answered, turning her head to the (s/c) MudWing.

" Are you Princess Tsunami? ", (M/n) inquired, fiddling a bit with the welcome scroll and map he was given at the door.

" Oh, yes. Yes, I am. What do you need? ", The SeaWing smiled, in a playful, boastful tone.

" Do you know where Clay is? ", He requested, meekly.

" Oh, yes. I believe he is in the Healing Center now. Follow me. ", Tsunami nodded, gesturing (M/n) to follow her.

After a bit of walking, Tsunami turned into a cave in the tunnel system. A large, orange MudWing came into view. He had a couple of paints on a table, trying to carefully color-code a diagram of a MudWing, highlighting all the different muscles.

" Clay, someone wants to see you. ", Tsunami exclaimed, catching the MudWing's attention.

" Hmm? Oh. ", Clay hummed, putting down the paint.

" And who might you be? ", Clay went on as he approached the two dragons, looking at (M/n), curiosity glinting through his warm brown eyes.

" (M/n)... I'm your sib... well, half-sib. We have the same father. ", (M/n) informed, his tone shaky and full of anticipation, expecting the worst.

" Oh, well... that's great! I love to meet more of my family. ", Clay exclaimed, having a warm tone, which caught (M/n) off-guard.

" Umber and Sora are here. Would you like to meet them? They are our sibs too. ", Clay offered afterward.

" S... sure! ", (M/n) responded, feeling a weight be lifted from his shoulders.

He was so excited to hang out with his sibs. He felt whole around his family. He would write a letter to his mother about how his first day was and how giddy he was to continue.

So, I know it's been a month. Again, I feel not so nice that I now post so infrequently. However, this is a reminder that I'm still alive and hopefully writer's block will leave me soon.

Take care of yourselves, or else... /j
