Jennifer's P.O.V

Whenever I had time, I loved catching up with Leah. She had been busy all week, but we finally found a moment to have a girl talk.

If someone had told me I'd be eating pizza at 5pm after a lazy day, I wouldn't have believed them. But we were just three months into the year and everything had changed so, who was I to question the decisions my body was making for me at that point?

"I told him to move in." I said wrinkling my face.

"And...?" She asked dragging the word.

"He's spending the night." I answered smiling as I bit my lower lip.

"Is he coming later? I wanna say hi." She said in a funny crazy voice.

"Don't scare him." I said holding back a laugh.

"Marc's bringing the kids back today, right?" She asked.

"Yeah. He should be here any minute." I said going back to my pizza.

"Have they met him already?" She asked.

"Not yet." I said with a hint of guilt in my voice.

"Great day today." She said.

"I'm gonna start biting my nails, and my manicurist is going to kill me." I joked.

"They are gonna love him." She said grabbing my arm.

"I hope so." I sighed.

I heard a car entering the driveway, and I knew that was Marc with the kids. When I showed up, they ran to the door and I kneeled down so we could join in a hug. Maxi told me Marc wanted to talk to me, so they went inside to say hi to Leah while we had that conversation. He wasn't leaning on the car, his body language wasn't the usual, something was different. He was always a pimp, but not this time. He looked insecure.

"Hey." I said as I walked closer.

"Hey." He replied.

"What is it?" I asked intrigued.

"Congratulations." He said looking happier now.

"They told you... I didn't think about that." I said.

"Weren't you going to tell me?" He chuckled.

"Well... I had to make sure it stayed private." I said crossing my arms in a funny way.

"I didn't know you were dating someone." He said in a tone of surprise. "I'm happy for you."

"Thank you." I said with a slight smile.

"We need to talk." His tone changed.

"I don't like how that sounds." I said worried.

"I'm moving soon... to the east coast." He said looking down.

That was so unexpected. We had a plan, an agreement. Our kids were starting to get used to the situation, and now, he was leaving.

"Have you told them?" I asked confused.

"It's not easy." He answered.

"Do you want me to tell them? Really?" The anger was obvious in my voice.

"Jennifer..." He said in a low voice.

"No." I said turning my back on him.

"Let's talk about it." He said.

"We're done talking." I said as I walked away.

I couldn't believe it. My heart was pounding wildly in my chest. It was like going back to our marriage. With shortness of breath, I walked inside, I had to get away. I thought we were past all that, but some people never change. He continued to disappoint me, always making my life harder. I wanted our kids to be happy, but he wasn't exactly collaborating, and now I was the one who had to tell them. They loved their father, and I was sure that was going to break their hearts.

"I really wanted you to meet them... but it's been an unexpectedly awful day..." I said in a low voice. "I'm sorry."

I was lying on my bed, on my stomach. My arms were over my head on the pillow, and my legs were crossed and bent. A thin embroidered black thong was the only piece of cloth I had on. I was trying to relax, let my mind travel to the farthest place possible. I breathed deeply and slowly as my eyes remained closed.

"Don't worry about that." He said in a soft voice.

Ben was very gentle when he walked, his steps were almost inaudible, and I didn't hear him gliding across the room. There was a moment of silence before his lips on my bare skin brought me right back to earth. I opened my eyes. He was sitting on the edge of the bed next to me, with that look on his face again, as though there wasn't anything in the world he'd rather be looking at. The soft palm of his hand was on my back, stroking up and down. It felt so good, so much that my eyes tried to close. But I couldn't let that happen, not when I had him right there. I turned over to have a better view, lying on my back. I was stunned.

"Is there anything I can do for you?" He asked and left a sweet kiss on my lips.

His hand played on my belly tracing circles, and my skin crawled at his soft touch. My breathing went out of control and became irregular, just like the first time he ever set his hands on me. That was the Ben effect, and his divine ability to make my senses go mad.

"Just touch me."
