Jennifer's P.O.V

The definition of a hard morning had definitely changed. Now it meant waking up to spend the first part of the day hugging the toilet. It wasn't exactly the way I expected to kick off the Saturday. My idea was to lie in bed for a while and behold the man that was half naked next to me, but after opening my eyes, everything happened so fast. I felt nauseous followed by the urge to throw up, and I had to get out of bed faster than a sleepy person should. After the first fifteen minutes, I lost track of time.

The touch of soft warm hands on my back made me open my eyes with a little rub. I tilted my head back, he was sitting on the floor behind me. He said nothing. His palms moved up and down in a pleasant massage, my eyes went shut again. All my energy had drained away. Now I couldn't complain though. I would've never asked him to sit on the floor of the bathroom to watch me throw up, that wasn't beautiful to see. But that moment he holds your hair back, that's when you know he's the one.

"Better?" He asked softly.

"I think that was all..." I found the strength to joke.

He wrapped his arms around my stomach and pulled me backwards slightly to make me lean on his chest. My head rested on his shoulder, and the rest of my body remained in the embrace of his broad torso. His chest moved up and down, and I with it. The rhythm was soothing, and I could've easily put myself back to sleep on his body.

"Did I wake you up?" I asked in a low voice.

"No, baby." He kissed my head.

The discomfort I had been feeling started to go away in his arms, for a moment, I even forgot we were on the floor of the bathroom, and the truth is I could've stayed like that a while longer. But Sam had other plans for us. He was an early riser, and he usually let everyone know he was hungry with a strong morning cry. Ben had kind of moved in, and I got to spend a few days with his son every other week, which reminded me of how beautiful and hard it was to take care of a baby. I still hadn't had the pleasure to meet his daughters, but it was a matter of time.

"I guess it is breakfast time." Ben said after a funny reaction. "Should I wake up the other babies?"

"I bet they are already awake." I chuckled.

They were awake and running around before we reached their room, and that was good, because for the first time, we were going to be all together and they could ask whatever they wanted to know about Ben. He prepared the cutest breakfast for them and made sure to give them space, so it wouldn't be weird for them. He sat in front of us, and the kids thought he was far enough not to hear their whispers. It was funny.

"Why is he living with us?" Max asked.

"He is mommy's friend. A good friend." I answered.

"Is he your boyfriend?" Emme asked.

I looked at him and he was looking away, hiding his expression of amusement.

"Do you think he'd make a good boyfriend?" I asked her.

"He's fine." She said shrugging.

Ben couldn't hold back his laughter any longer after that answer. The kids didn't understand it, but they thought his laugh was funny and they laughed along.

"Is he bringing the baby?" Max asked.

"Well... kind of." I laughed.

"Your mommy is bringing the baby. I'm just helping her." Ben said in a sweet voice.

They thought for a second and made sure they agreed on that one.

"You can stay." Max said shrugging in a funny way.

"Thank you." Ben said amused.

That was something, and it was positive. I didn't want to push it, because I knew with time he would end up giving them reasons to like him.

"I know this may sound like alien language to you but, take the day off." He said kissing my forehead.

He was holding Sam's car seat, ready to go with him. He had to take him with his mother, but he would be back in time for lunch and to prepare for later. That same night, he had to attend an event, and his suit had been hanging in my dresser for a few days. Whenever I walked in, I would stop to look at it for a moment and remember how ten years before, I was patiently waiting to see his wedding tuxedo hanging like that for the big day.

I wasn't used to spending the day at home doing nothing. It had been a challenge for me not to rehearse or just go to the office, because the word "rest" wasn't even in my vocabulary. But the day was over, and I knew my body couldn't have taken it even if I wanted, so I was glad I listened when Ben told me to take the day off.

I was in bed after putting the kids to sleep and watching Ben get ready for the event. He looked dashingly handsome and prepared to get all the attention on the carpet. Before leaving, he walked to me and pulled up the blanket I was half covered in.

"Good night, little." He kissed my forehead.

He walked to the door, and with his hand on the light switch, he turned to me.

"I'll try not to wake you up." He said with the sweetest smile.

"No. Do it. I wanna know you're back." I said in a soft voice.

"Okay." He said, and switched off the light.
