Jennifer's P.O.V

The most chaotic morning imaginable would've been peaceful compared to our morning. We were far from ready to handle the antics of five children at the same time, but that was something we didn't know before bringing them together in the same house. Four of them had to be at school at 8:15, but they were all still in their pajamas and they hadn't had breakfast yet. It was 7:40 and we still had a fifteen minute drive to get there. A whirlwind seemed to have passed through the whole house, the toys made us trip, there was milk spilled on the floor, pieces of clothing hung from chairs and other furniture. It was daunting, but we were behind them fixing every mess even though the unexpected setbacks didn't seem to end. And in case all that wasn't enough, Sam started crying.

"I got him." Ben said walking past me and going straight to the kitchen where Sam was sitting in his chair.

"Maxi, come here." I said as I ran behind him to take off his pajamas.

He was fast, more than I was. He jumped on the couch, crawled under the table, and kept running around. But I was smarter, and that's what allowed me to catch him before I lost him again. Though he put up resistance, I was able to pull off shirt and pants.

"Sweetheart, where is Sam's bottle?" Ben asked and my attention went away from Max, giving him the chance to slip out of my hands. Now he was running around naked.

"I left it on the island." I said as I picked Max's clothes from the floor.

"It's no longer there." He replied.

That's when I saw her, Seraphina, his four year old running with the bottle in her hand. I dropped the pajamas where it was before I picked it, and I rushed to stop her. It was like an obstacle course, having to dodge a child standing in my way, skip the toys, watch the drops of milk on the floor. But I caught her too. She cackled when I lifted her off the floor to carry her in my arms.

"Let's give that to daddy, okay?" I said tickling her tummy.

He was still in the kitchen trying to soothe Sam, patting his back, rocking him in vain. When he saw us, his face glowed with relief. I walked up to him and Sera handed him the bottle. He leaned in to kiss her head. The moment her feet touched the floor, she ran out. We had fifteen minutes left and the surprises weren't over. I turned around and Emme showed up with something unexpected in her hand.

"Why was this on your lamp?" She asked holding it out for us to see.

My eyes went back to Ben in an attempt not to laugh, but he was also holding back his laughter. In the rush of the moment, I forgot the amazing night we had had, also forgetting that our clothes had flown across the room landing everywhere. Now she was running around while she waved a pair of Ben's briefs.

"Okay, give that to me and let's do your hair." I said taking it from her hand. When she turned around, I threw them at him, who easily dodged them.

I finally got Emme to sit at the table in front of her breakfast, she ate and I brushed her hair into a ponytail. She hummed a cartoon song peacefully with every spoon she had from her bowl, but behind me the chaos continued. I couldn't help but laugh when I saw Ben struggling with Violet's pigtails, he tried and it was cute, but her hair looked like she had just woken up.

"Let me help you with that, baby." I said caressing his arm.

Instead of taking the hairbrush, I guided his hand. He smiled.

"Part the hair in the middle so it doesn't look messy or uneven. Choose a side to begin with and secure it with the hair tie." I explained.

"How was that?" He asked excited.

"That was great." I answered.

"Thank you, little." He said kissing my head.

"Next lesson, braids." I said in a teasing tone.

We had ten minutes left before having to leave. I had to trick Max into thinking we were going to play to be able to dress him up, getting him to have breakfast was another battle. It was easier with Emme and the cute dress I chose for her, same with Sera. But the crazy screaming in the background didn't stop for a second.

Four backpacks on the kitchen island were now ready with their lunch for the day, and everything seemed to be working smoothly.

"How are you doing over there?" I asked Ben while I helped Violet tie her boots.

"I'm getting ready to change a diaper." He answered in a funny tone.

"You're all set." I told Violet as I laughed at Ben's tone.

We got in the Escalade two minutes earlier than planned, and made sure we hadn't left anyone behind. The traffic was light, and we dropped them off on time and against all odds. We looked at each other and remained quiet for a moment.

"We're the best." Ben chuckled.

"Best team ever." I replied as I reached for a fist bump.

"Next stop, dance studio." He said grabbing my hand on his thigh.

He didn't rush in his driving, we cruised and enjoyed each other's company, but mostly, we enjoyed the silence we had been needing for a while. Sam was sleeping in the back seat, and he remained that way long enough to reach the studio. I couldn't even think of a two hour show, but I said I would perform at the next awards, and I was ready to work my ass off on that song.

"Wanna have lunch together?" He asked rubbing his thumb on my hand.

"I'd love that." I answered and I reached for one last kiss.

"I'll pick you up." He said in a sweet voice as I got out of the car. When I was walking away, he rolled down the window. "Take it easy, baby."
