Jennifer's P.O.V

I was getting ready for the spotlights, the public, and two hours of an extremely dynamic show. Hair and makeup were done, I just had to get dressed now that we only had thirty minutes left. That used to be the moment everybody started getting nervous, while I was finally able to relax after the jitters of the day. But the situation wasn't the usual, and a new kind of nervousness was setting in.

The knocking on the door stopped me from removing my robe to put on the concert costume. Someone from the team opened to find the most unexpected person on the other side. I saw him through the mirror in front of me, standing at the threshold with his hands in his pockets and an attempt of a faint smile on his face. I turned around to look at him. He raised one of his hands to say hi and I stood up.

"Could you give us a moment?" I said addressing everyone in the room.

He walked in, and everyone else left the room, the last of them closed the door. The distance between us seemed overwhelmingly infinite as we stood on opposite sides of the room, saying nothing but feeling everything. I wondered if he felt the way I did, like it might be love.

"I needed to see you." He said taking a first step forward.

His body language radiated insecurity. His steps were short and unsteady, and his arms didn't move accordingly. But he continued walking closer. On his face, it was evident that he tried to find the right words to say. I remained still, the back of my legs touching the table where I was getting ready. My hands gave me the balance I needed by grabbing the edge of the glass surface behind me.

"I know I said that whatever you decided would be okay but... Jennifer, I do want this with you. If my desire... means something right now..." His words sounded truer than ever.

The distance that had kept us apart when he first entered the room was now a distant memory to be forgotten, as the ten years since we decided to part ways until this exact moment.

"I had already made a decision, Ben." Now I was the one to step forward. I placed my hand on his chest, not to push him back but to let him know how much I wanted him close. "I want to have this baby."

His face rapidly switched to a happier expression, and the look in his eyes revived with a special glow that gave me hope.

"I thought I was over it, us. I always tried to convince myself that I had been able to move on. But Ben... I'm not finished loving you... in this lifetime or in any lifetime." My lower lip trembled as I spoke.

His hands moved fast to cup my face, and his loving expression conveyed a kind of warmth I didn't remember existed. The flutter in my stomach was right about him, because no one had ever made me feel that way. There was no more fear in me, just the sound of my heart loud enough for him to feel. The distance between our eyes narrowed along with the space between our bodies. My lips parted. I looked for his mouth, intense, smooth and contained. Until his hands took a hold of me, and everything accelerated. He pushed me upwards gently to make me sit on the table behind me, we mirrored a silly smile. His thumb brushed my lower lip. He stared into my eyes, and I held his burning gaze for a moment, but eventually, my attention was drawn to his irresistible mouth. My thoughts were momentarily silenced with his lips against my skin, tracing down my neck, and sending shivers through my nerves, shivers that made my whole body tremble.

"It's almost show time." I gasped.

His closeness made it impossible to think, and I was bewildered at the response of my senses and how they surrendered to him.

"Do you want me to stop?" His half-closed eyes were now wide open.

"No, don't stop." I said as I inhaled the scent of his shaving cream. "Ever."

And then he kissed me again, fiercely. My back thudded against the mirror, making me feel that rush of helplessness, the surging of warmth. I mentally thanked him for showing up, for being there. The knot keeping my robe closed had been undone in our body to body dance. I let it fall from my shoulders. Heat rose from every inch of me as my naked body was in complete display for him. He undressed from waist down when he realized. I had a show to give, and we were going against the clock. It isn't something to be hurried on, but knowing that they were waiting for me and feeling like we were running out of time, turned the acceleration of the process into a turn-on. My breath came in a wild gasp. My fingers knotted in his hair, clutching him to me. My legs flexed against his back, urging him closer and receiving him with a faint "ah". It was insane, the way his body pressed against mine, warm and untamed.

It was the best sensation, something that went beyond simple sexual pleasure. We had been spending time together for months, but now we had finally found each other, at the beginning of a journey that was meant to change our lives more than we could've imagined when it all started like a game.

"Jennifer! Ten minutes to go!" Someone yelled from the other side of the door.

I didn't hear those words as loud as they were said because I was still in a haze, with Ben between my legs, our breaths mingling, and my hands clenching at his plaid shirt. The shaking hadn't left my body when I first pulled back to look at him, and his eyes were still closed. His lips remained parted while he tried to breathe normal again, but that didn't hide the smile reigning on his face. My lipstick was all over and around his mouth. I took a makeup remover wipe from a box next to me, and I removed it carefully from his skin. He didn't look away once, and that made me smile.

Back in the robe, and pretending we had been chatting, I opened the door to an edgy Benny. He stood restless at the threshold and told me to get dressed. The rest of the team rushed into the room, and Ben was somehow pushed out. From the distance, I moved my lips to tell him I would see him later. I used some help to put on the first costume of the night, and I left the dressing room escorted by the security team. On my way to the stage, I got to see him one more time. He was leaning on the wall of the hallway, and despite the people surrounding me, I managed to walk close enough to him to touch his hand. He nodded with a smile, and I nodded back. A second later, I was past him and he was behind the crowd, where I could no longer see him. When that show started, all I could think about was him, and I hoped he would be watching me from somewhere behind the stage.
