Jennifer's P.O.V

I woke up, warm and wrapped around Ben's naked body. Though he was asleep, he was holding me close. Soft morning light filtered through the curtains. My head was on his chest, my leg tangled with his, and my arm across his stomach. I raised my head slightly, scared that I might wake him. But I tentatively stroked his chest, running my fingertips over his skin. I leaned over to tenderly kiss the corner of his lips. He moaned softly, but didn't wake up, and I smiled.

I wanted to make breakfast for him while the kids slept, before the kitchen went from a peaceful space to the craziest room in the house. I checked in the fridge and instantly opted for pancakes and bacon. I also wanted to add eggs, maybe some fruit or a shake, but that was just my crazy appetite taking.

We were just weeks away from the release of the new song with Pitbull, Live It Up, and I couldn't get it out of my head. It was almost inevitable that I would dance my way around the kitchen while I sang it in my head, humming quietly.

I whisked the eggs, the ones I was trying not to eat. I just couldn't resist the idea of scrambled eggs next to my bacon. I even started to question if that was what Ben would like to have for breakfast or if it was what I was subconsciously craving.

He caught me mid spin, dancing by myself while I was starting on the bacon. I didn't expect him to wake up for another while, but it didn't surprise me at all that he was watching me without letting me know he was there. He looked amused as he walked over to me. With his hands on either side of my face, he leaned in for the sweetest good morning kiss, so close that he seemed much taller than usual.

"Hungry?" I asked, shrugging funnily at the large amount of food.

"Starving." He answered in a funny hoarse voice.

"Are we still talking about food?" I asked amused.

"For now." He said as he walked to the island with two plates. I smiled. "What song were you dancing to?"

"Live It Up." I replied as I sat next to him.

"Never heard of that one." He said.

"You will soon." I left a kiss on his cheek.

"So it's yours..." He sounded interested.

"I will show you the video. You'll love it." I said.

"If you're in it, I already love it." He took my hand and brought it to his lips to kiss it.

"So... Gone Girl. New movie?" I asked with a big smile as my hands supported my face.

"How do you know about that?" He asked surprised.

"I heard you talking on the phone with Matt." I said, kind of feeling sorry for eavesdropping.

"I was offered the lead." He didn't sound very excited.

"That's great, baby." But I was.

"I still don't know if I want to take the part." He said going back to his breakfast.

"What? Why?" I asked disconcerted.

"You know... many hours on set." He explained, implying that that was bad.

"When has that been a problem?" I asked confused.

"The filming is set to start between September and October." He answered with a loving smile.

"Oh." My expression changed radically.

"Yeah." He pursed his lips.

"Well... you should take it anyway." I placed my hand on his hand. "I don't want you to regret turning it down."

"I would regret not being here at such an important moment. The last thing I want is for you to be alone." His look went down.

I stood up from my stool and he was already welcoming me into his arms. I sat on his lap and I snuggled against his chest.

"Whenever you're filming, just keep your phone handy. I'll be okay. And you will only be one call away. I promise you won't miss a single thing."

I knew what he meant, how he felt. And though I kind of shared that concern, I really meant what I said.

"Will you take it?" I asked in a childlike voice.

"I'll think about it." He chuckled.

"Good answer." I said in a low voice with a slight smile on my face.
