Why I Love You

Zac and Fatima are in their therapy session. And Zac and Fatima are sitting face to face.

Faith: So Today I want y'all to tell each other something you love about one another. Zac you wanna go first?

Zac: Fatima, baby I love you because you saw the greater in me that I didn't see in myself. I love the way you admire me. I love how nervous you get when I'm around. I love the intimacy you've brought out of me. I love your smile. I love your body. I love your mind. I love all of you.

Fatima: Zac I love you because you keep me grounded. I love the way you challenge me. I love the way you make love to not only my body but also my mind. I love the way you look at me. I love the way you make me smile. I love that you don't give up. I love that you make me feel safe. I love all of you.

Faith: Now I want you to tell each other something about them.

Fatima: Well Zac I know that you doubt yourself. And I know that you question if you're good enough for me. And Zac you are. Over the past year, you have grown a lot. And you have become more and more of the man that I deserve. No you're not perfect and I never want you to ever feel like you gotta be perfect for me. I want you, the real you. Not the made up version of you, but the you that I'm looking at right now. At times I'm so afraid to look into your eyes because each time I do, I fall deeper in love with you. So Zachary Luther Taylor, I'm yours and only yours. And you are all the man that I want and need.

Zac: Fatima I know that you question if I'm going to leave you with a broken heart. And I'm here to tell you that I will never break you and leave you to deal with that pain by yourself. I see that you're scared, I can feel it. But you don't have to be scared. I can't picture my life with no one else but you. You are my forever. And I will love and cherish you till the day I die. You are the only woman I want. And deep down in my heart I know that you were made for me.

Faith: And what is something that you want from each other?

Zac: Fatima I want you to stop shutting down when things get hard. Stop being afraid to open up. If I can trust you with my emotions and feelings, You gotta trust me with yours. Trust me enough to know that I got you and always will. We're about to step into a marriage, which means we gotta be each others backbone and talk about tough things. I love and care about you deeply, and seeing you hurting affects me too.

Fatima: And Zac I want you to give yourself grace and stop selling yourself short. Zac I can be all the woman you want and need. But if you can't be that for self, then what I give doesn't matter. Start believing in yourself. Start pouring into self. Be as good to yourself as you are to others. Baby you owe that to you. You deserve more than you give yourself.

Faith: A lot of times, couples In general. They listen to respond, instead of listening to understand. And that's where they go wrong at. So my question is after listening to each other, how did that make you feel.

Fatima: I felt heard and what I said mattered.

Faith: And you Zac?

Zac: I felt the same. And it's something that we all must practice. It's a great way to communicate better. And communication is key.

Faith: And I'm glad to hear that. And so I want y'all to take everything each other said in and always remind each other of them. And I want to see y'all back in two weeks.

Zac: okay, and thank you.

Faith: you're welcome. See y'all later.

Zac and Fatima leave and headed home.

Zac: Baby how do you feel about today's therapy session/exercise?

Fatima: I think it was pretty dope. It's something that I really have to practice because I do run a lot. Wby? How do you feel about it?

Zac: I think it was very helpful. And it's something I also have to practice. I tend to sell myself short and I'm worth more than that.

Fatima: We gotta stay on each other and help each other. Even when we're married.

Zac: definitely after we're married. Because once we're in, ain't no turning back.

Fatima: It's either life or death. Ain't no divorcing.

Zac: and I choose life.

Fatima: I choose life too.

They both laugh
