{Chapter 58}
Daisy woke up after going back to Spencer last night to see both her mom and Aaron not there. She smiled sadly to herself as she was still worried about what's going to happen with her mom and dad after all this. She sat up to finally notice her fiancé wasn't next to her and that all of the men were gone. Emily and JJ sat up as well and looked to the younger girl.
"Your arm ok?" Emily asked
Daisy nodded, "Yeah, how's your ankle?"
Emily shrugged, "It hurts a bit but it's fine."
Derek, Spencer, and David walked out with more wood for the fire. Daisy's stomach grumbled making Spencer glance at her with a look of sympathy. Derek saw him looking at her and pat his shoulder making him look in his direction.
"We still got our guns, man. Let's go see if we can find something to eat." Derek whispered to him
Spencer nodded and walked over to Daisy to kiss her. She kissed back tenderly before Derek pulled the genius away. Daisy smiled to herself as the two girls ran over to her gushing about how cute their relationship was.
Novice Agent
Aaron and Melinda were sat far away from the team as they were trying to talk about what's going to happen. Melinda had her head on his shoulder while his arm was wrapped around her shoulder. He kissed her head, letting it linger for a moment, before looking out with a sigh.
"We're going to figure something out, Aaron." Melinda muttered
"I'm worried I won't have much time when you do figure it out." Aaron whispers
Melinda sighed in aggravation and stood up from his arms, making him look up at her with an confused expression. She ran a hand through her hair with a scowl on her face at the fact he didn't believe he was going to live.
"Melinda-"
"Why do you not believe we will find a way?! Aaron, you may not want to die, but you aren't acting like it!" Melinda scolded
"It's hard for me to think about, Melinda! If I were to go, I would be leaving you, Jack, Daisy, just everyone I care about." Aaron tells her
Melinda frowned at what he was telling her and she felt upset to think if he was to go. A whirring sound was heard in the air making the two look up to see a SHIELD quinjet land right in front of them. Aaron stood up with his eyebrows furrowed in curiosity, while Melinda had a small smile at the sight of the aircraft. The ramp lowered down to see the team and Phil Coulson there. Phil walked down to greet the two before pulling Melinda into a hug.
"So good to see you!" Melinda tells him
Aaron felt pain in his chest and he gripped his chest as he staggered back a bit. Melinda looked over to him with concern as he gave her a believable smile to show he was okay. Phil beckoned them to get on the aircraft and Melinda got on. Aaron went to follow, only for him to feel lightheaded and passed out. Melinda gasped and went to run towards him when Phil held her back, while Jemma, Mack, and Leopold ran over to him and got him onto a stretcher to take him to the lab to help save him. Melinda and Daisy were crying as they thought the worse was going to happen. Phil looked at two of his former agents with sadness as he hoped Jemma can save Aaron so they didn't have to lose someone special to them.
Novice Agent
The aircraft had lifted off and everyone wanted to be excited that they were off the island and were heading home, but all that was on everyone's minds was Aaron. Melinda was in a room by herself, trying to not have a meltdown. She was zoned out, looking at a wall, with a solemn expression on her face. She couldn't fathom the thought if he died as she would have to tell Jack about his father not coming home. Outside of the room she was in, Daisy and the team were talking.
"This sucks." Daisy sighed
Spencer wrapped an arm around her shoulder, bringing her closer to him, resting her head on his shoulder. Daisy wrapped her arms around his waist as she listened to everyone.
"I know. May just can't seem to catch a break." Emily replied
"I hope everything ends up ok for them." Derek replied solemnly
"Me too." JJ whispers
Daisy left Spencer's arms and walked into the room her mother was in. Melinda looked up at the sound of the door opening to see her daughter walking in. She smiled softly at her as she turned to face back towards the wall. Daisy walked over and sat down next to her and reached towards her hand, holding it in her own. Melinda was chewing on her fingernails out of anxiety and concern for what's to happen. Daisy rested her head on her shoulder and squeezed her hand on comfort.
"He's going to be ok, mom. He's not going to go down with a fight." Daisy tells her
"I don't know about that." Melinda replied
Daisy looked at her confused, "Why is that?"
"When we were away from the team, he was acting like he was ready to die." Melinda whispers
Melinda's eyes welled up as she looked down at her lap. Daisy was rubbing her mom's back as they waited for any news about Aaron.
Novice Agent
They were almost to Quantico when Jemma walked out of the lab. Daisy and Melinda, who had eventually walked out, stood up and looked at her, waiting for an answer on what's going to happen. The team as well stood up anticipating the outcome of the situation. Jemma's eyes met Melinda and she shook her head with a sympathetic look.
