{Chapter 50}
It was the next day at work and Aaron was in his office, only for him to be met by his daughter figure. He smiled at her as she walked in and sat on the edge of his desk.
"Hey! You need something?" Aaron asked
"Is my mom ok?" Daisy asked
Aaron knew she was going to ask him about her mother seeing as she didn't come into work today. He persuaded her to stay at his apartment, so she can get some rest for a couple of days. She was defiant about it, but eventually gave in.
"Yes, she just was just overworking herself and hadn't had the time to relax. She's at my apartment with Jack for this case." Aaron informs her
"You're probably the first and only one to be able to do that." Daisy tells him
She smiled at him before walking out of his office to the conference room, leaving him to his thoughts. He hadn't realized he was the only one who can get Melinda to relax and ease up. He grinned before getting up to head to the conference room to talk about their case.
Novice Agent
Melinda woke up to the sun beaming on her face and felt little arms and legs against her side. She looked next to her to see Jack next to her, asleep, making her smile and run her fingers through his hair. She then checked the time on her phone and noticed it was a little time passed when the team have to go in for the meeting for the case. She seen a message from Daisy asking how she was doing and a message from Aaron telling her to relax, where they were going, and that he will call her later.
"Mom?" Jack called out softly
Melinda looked over at him to see him awake as he sat up on the bed. She looked at him with curiosity before her eyes widened when his arms wrapped around her.
"Everything ok, honey?" Melinda asked
"Yeah, I just missed you. Daddy told me you and Daisy got taken from us and I was upset." Jack tells her
Melinda smiled down at him, "Both me and Daisy are back and we won't be leaving anytime soon, ok?"
Jack smiled and hugged her tightly before getting off the bed, running to the kitchen. Melinda got up off the bed and followed close behind as she began to make herself and Jack breakfast. Jack ran over to watch as she cooked, before he was placed on top of the counter next to her.
"What do you say, we watch a couple movies and then make some snacks?" Melinda suggested to the boy
Jack gasped at the idea and nodded his head, clapping his hands excitedly. Melinda smiled as she turned the stove off and began plating the food. She placed Jack down, gesturing for him to sit down, as she walked behind him with two plates of food. They ate the food, before going into the living room to watch movies together.
