NEWS HAD SPREAD LIKE WILDFIRE OVER THE TIMELY DEATH OF PROFESSOR QUIRRELL AND HARRY'S ARRIVAL IN THE HOSPITAL WING.

you had forgotten that hermione, ron, and harry were supposed to come get you, so you were fast asleep when they arrived.

well, that was their fault.

but now, it was the final feast of the year, food was sprawled out all over the table. your stomach grumbles lightly.

the room was decked out with green and slytherin banners were strung up all around, you could care less who won. you can barely even remember which house you're in.

food was scattered all over the table like usual, everyone gouging down on it. you ate the things that caught your eye or that you could somewhat remember.

since it was the end of year meal, you had to be sat at your won table, so you sat in the far corner, a seat away from anyone else.

all attention turns to mcgonagall as she hits her spoon on the goblet.

dumbledore stands up, dressed in some ugly, yet fancy robes like usual.

"another year gone.. and now, as i understand it, the house cup needs awarding. and the points stand thus : in fourth place, gryffindor with 312 points"

you blink owlishly as everyone claps.

"third place, hufflepuff with 352 points"

everyone claps again, with the gryffindor's looking majorly disappointed.

"in second place... ravenclaw with 426 points"

the clapping gets a little louder and cheers can be heard from your table, you follow the movements of everyone else, hitting your hands together with a tilt of your head.

"and in first place.. with 472 points, slytherin house"

slytherin house erupts into loud cheers.

"yes, yes. well done, slytherin. well done, slytherin. however-" dumbledore holds up a finger - "recent events must be taken into account. and i have a few.. last minute points to award."

you look up at him, head tilted.

"to miss hermione granger"

you purse your lips.

"for the cool use of intellect.. while others were in grave peril... 50 points."

gryffindor table cheers.

"second, to mr. ronald weasley. for the best played game of chess that hogwarts has seen these many years.. 50 points"

your eyebrows furrow slightly.

gryffindor table cheers again.

"and fourth.. to mr harry potter.. for pure nerve and outstanding courage.. i award gryffindor house 60 points"

slytherin looked panicked, you were now tied with gryffindor.

"and finally, it takes a great deal of bravery to stand up to your enemies.. but a great deal more to stand up to your friends. .. i award 10 points.. to neville longbottom"

gryffindor table erupt into louder cheers than before, excitement drawn over the faces.

that sounds like.. um.. what's the word again? fa... bo.. ta.. fav.. the.. favour.. favourite.. favouritsim! yes, favouritism. 

you look down at your plate.

"assuming that my calculations are correct, i believe.. that a change of decoration is in order.."

dumbledore claps his hands, and the once green colour turns red and yellow with the snakes getting replaced by lions.

"gryffindor wins the house cup"

THE JOURNEY HOME WAS FILLED WITH CHATTER FROM HERMIONE, RON, AND HARRY.

it was mostly them blabbing to you all about what happened where you barely listened to a word, completely unfazed. not like you would remember, anyway.

ginko glares at the whole cart, snuggled into the crook of your neck.

she was murmuring evilly, questioning why you were sat with these, so called ;

'ugly, immature, weak, stupid, loser kids'
