Kai POV

Kai: What on earth is that thing up there?

It was some kind of dome structure. It was a dark forest green, with gold detailing. It was actually a very impressive building. It looked like it was really really old, but also very well preserved.

Pandoria: My Prince, look over there.

Zeke: Would you look at that. I guess we've arrived.

Nia: Whoa, it looks way older than the palace...

Dromarch: Yes, it seems untouched by the ravages of time...

We walked up to the ornate door.

Zeke: That's it.

Zeke got it open. There was a glowing blue cube floating in the center of the dome.

Rex: Looks like a Core Crystal... Is that the Omega Fetter...?

Pyra: Yes. That's Ophion's control core. It was originally a conduit that I used to communicate with Ophion.

Brighid: We have to hurry.

Pyra: Yes, you're right.

Pyra switched with Mythra, who then stared at the cube.

Rex: Well? Can you fix it?

Mythra waved him off.

Mythra: Shut up.

Rex looked hurt.

Rex: I'm sorry...

Mythra: Hmmm...

Mythra's hand glowed for a moment, making the cube glow brighter.

Rex: Mythra? Whoa...

Pandoria: In that case...

Another shudder accompanied by an uneasy feeling of getting a tad heavier.

Mòrag: Are we...rising?

Kai: I think so.

Pandoria: All right! Prince, I've told Genbu to resume circling the Cloud Sea once he's done rising.

Zeke: Nice. Looks like we made it after all.

Tora: Oh! Great news! Phew, Tora was not look forward to becoming flat as Argentum Monkfish.

I chuckled.

Nia: A job well done, eh?

Pandoria: Hey, Rex. You can remove that thing now.

Rex: Hm.

He walked up and grabbed the cube, storing it in one of his many pockets.

Kai: Let's move.

We walked out of the dome. Just to find our favorite group of assholes waiting for us.

Akhos: So it was hidden all the way out here... No wonder we couldn't find it.

Kai: Well shit.

Rex: What-!

Akhos: I'd just been wondering whether it was time to make an exit... Thanks for saving me the trouble.

Patroka: Lovely to see that tedious woman isn't here to get in our way this time!

Kai: But unluckily for you, I am.

They all flinched at the sight of me. And I chuckled darkly.

Mikhail: Care to join me in a dance of death, Nia?
