"I can't live like this anymore, Maddie!" You yell to Sadie. You turn around and run your fingers through your hair. "I-I've tried! I've tried so hard but I can't!"Sadie comes up behind you and puts a hand on your shoulder. "Cass, listen," Her voice is soft and soothing. "I know life may seem like it's against you now, but trust me, we can work through it together."
"No, you don't understand!" You turn back around to face her. "I've tried, okay? I've tried working through it but I failed." Tears begin falling down your cheeks as you speak. "I've tried getting help but it doesn't do anything. I've tried getting a therapist but that just brings back all of the bad memories! The only thing a therapist has done for me is put me in a goddamn psych ward!"
Sadie begins crying harder than before, pulling you in for a hug. You sob into her shoulder and hold her close.
"I'm so fucking tired, Mads," you cry. "I'm so fucking tired."
Sadie shut her eyes to try and hold back the tears. "I know, I know."
"I don't want to be here anymore," you continue to sob out. "This world is too exhausting to stay in."
That wasn't your line, but Sadie went along with it anyways.
"Shhh," Sadie comforts as she rubs your back. "It's okay, Cass. I'm right here." Her voice cracks as she continues speaking.
You weren't acting anymore. You were expressing your real feelings. You had been battling depression for almost five years now, and you couldn't get out of it. It had sucked you in too deep to the point where not a single day went by that you thought about taking your car and driving it off of a bridge or going out and buying a gun to put to your head. It consumed you too much.
You continued to sob into Sadie's shoulder when the director called cut. When he did, you detached from Sadie and ran off to the bathroom and locked yourself in the stall.
You curled up in the corner and sobbed into your arms. You pulled your arms away and looked at the scars on your wrists. Those weren't real, only makeup for the movie, but it made you think of your actual scars. You cut yourself on your sides and stomach, in places that weren't as visible so nobody saw them, but you felt like the ones on your wrists were real. You wished they were real.
"Y/n?" You heard a voice from outside. It was Sadie. She knocked on the stall door you were in. "You in there?"
You wiped your nose with your arm before unlocking the door and letting Sadie in. Sadie looked down at you worriedly. You stared back with puffy eyes, a red nose, and tear tracks staining your cheeks.
"Y/n/n," Sadie muttered, crouching down and putting her hands softly on the side of your face.
More tears began swelling in your eyes before they let out. You pulled Sadie into a hug and sobbed into her shoulder again.
Sadie wrapped her arms around you and rubbed your back.
"I don't want to do this anymore," you sob. "I-I can't do this anymore."
"Y/n-" Sadie tries to speak before stopping herself. She took a deep breath before speaking again. "Y/n I love you."
You slowly pull away to look at her. "What?"
