Samantha woke up in a hospital bed, feeling disoriented and confused.

She looked around the sterile room and tried to remember how she got there. Slowly, the memories flooded back to her: the pain, the blood, the fear.

She looked down at her belly, still swollen with her unborn child. She let out a sigh of relief when she felt a tiny kick.

A nurse came in and checked her vitals. "How are you feeling, dear?" she asked.

Samantha hesitated for a moment before responding. "I...I'm okay," she said, her voice shaky. "Is my baby okay?"

The nurse smiled reassuringly. "Yes, everything looks good. You had a bit of a scare, but it seems like you and your baby are going to be just fine."

Tears welled up in Samantha's eyes as she heard those words. She felt a wave of relief wash over her. She had been so scared that she might lose her baby, but now it seemed like they were going to make it.

As she lay there, she thought about what had happened. She knew that she couldn't go back to Augustus, not after what he had done to her and their child. She needed to start a new life, away from him.

But how could she do that? She had no job, no money, and no place to go. She closed her eyes and tried to think. Suddenly, she remembered the bag she had brought with her.

She asked the nurse if she could have the bag, and when she received it, she breathed a sigh of relief. The bag was heavy with money, more money than she had ever seen before. It must have been Augustus's, but she didn't care. It was her ticket to freedom.

She decided that she would use the money to start a new life for herself and her baby. She would find a job, rent a small apartment, and try to make a life for themselves. It wouldn't be easy, but she was determined to make it work.

As she lay there, she made a promise to her unborn child. She promised that she would do everything in her power to protect them and to give them a good life. She promised that they would never have to suffer like she had suffered.

With that promise in her heart, she closed her eyes and drifted off to sleep, feeling a sense of peace and hope that she hadn't felt in a long time.

In the midst of her sleep, Samantha began to have a nightmare. It was a frightening and haunting vision of her husband, Augustus, beating her while she was lying on the bed in the hospital.

The images were vivid and terrifying, and Samantha could feel the pain and fear as if it was happening in real life.

In the dream, Augustus's face was twisted into a sneer of rage and malice. He was shouting and yelling at Samantha, accusing her of things she had not done. His fists were clenched and he lashed out at her, hitting her with brutal force.

Samantha tried to fight back, but she was too weak and helpless against his attack. She felt the weight of his blows, the sharp sting of pain as they struck her body. She cried out for help, but no one came to her aid.

The nightmare seemed to go on forever, a never-ending cycle of violence and agony. Samantha was trapped in the grip of her husband's wrath, unable to escape or defend herself. She felt helpless and alone, with no one to turn to.

Finally, the dream ended, leaving Samantha in a cold sweat and trembling with fear. She opened her eyes and looked around the hospital room, relieved to find that she was safe and alone.

But the memory of the nightmare lingered on, haunting her with its dark and terrifying imagery.
