Augustus held Samantha's hand tightly as he begged for her to come back to him. Tears streamed down his face as he knelt in front of her, pleading for forgiveness. Samantha stood firm, trying to pull her hand away from his grip, but he refused to let go.
"I know I've done you wrong, but I swear I've changed, Samantha. I've been looking for you for so long, and seeing you again has made me realize how much I still love you. Please, my wife, let's fix our family and be together again," he said, his voice choking with sadness.
Samantha shook her head, pulling her hand away from him. "You're the one who ruined our family, Augustus. I don't want anything from you now but your signature on these divorce papers," she said, holding up the papers in front of him.
Augustus looked devastated, his eyes pleading with her to change her mind. But Samantha remained resolute, knowing that she couldn't go back to the life of abuse and pain that Augustus had inflicted upon her.
As she turned to walk away, she caught sight of Bryan in his car, watching them closely. She felt a sense of relief wash over her, knowing that he was there to support her and protect her from Augustus.
Augustus laughed, a cruel sound that made Samantha's blood boil. "So he's the reason why you don't want to go back? You, fucking ungrateful slut!" He raised his hand and slapped her hard, the force of the blow making her stumble.
Samantha's cheek burned with pain, but she refused to back down. She raised her hand and slapped him back, her anger and frustration finally boiling over. "There's no other reason but you! Your goddamn attitude, Augustus! Fucking sign this now!"
"You're going to regret that, you little bitch," Augustus growled as he snatched the document from her hand.
Bryan, who had been waiting patiently in the car, sensed the tension and knew he had to intervene. He stepped out of the vehicle and approached them. "It's best to put this matter in court, Samantha," he said calmly. "Don't let him bully you into staying."
Augustus turned his wrath towards Bryan, but he stood on his ground. "You're not welcome here," Augustus sneered.
Bryan ignored the insult and turned his attention back to Samantha. "Are you okay?" he asked gently, placing a hand on her shoulder.
Samantha nodded, feeling grateful for his presence. "Thank you, Bryan," she said softly. "I don't know what I would do without you."
Bryan gave her a reassuring smile. "You don't have to go through this alone," he said. "I'll be here for you, no matter what."
"Call me on my cell and I'll fucking show up and get my right over this child." Augustus said. "I'll be your daddy..." he continued and looked at his daughter.
Samantha's heart sank as she heard Augustus' words. She couldn't believe that he would try to assert his rights over the child, after everything he had put her through.
She felt a sense of dread wash over her, wondering if he would actually try to come after her and the baby.
