Samantha was nervous as she sat on the examination table, waiting for Dr. Rebeka to come in.
Bryan was by her side, holding her hand and trying to keep her calm. Samantha's mind was racing with all sorts of worries and anxieties, but Bryan's presence helped to ease her fears.
Finally, Dr. Rebeka entered the room, smiling warmly at the two of them. "Hello, Samantha, Bryan," she greeted them. "How are you both feeling today?"
Samantha gave a small smile, feeling relieved at Dr. Rebeka's friendly demeanor. "I'm doing alright, just a little nervous," she admitted.
Dr. Rebeka grinned at the couple. "You two make such a lovely pair, I have no doubt she'll be just as gorgeous as her parents."
Samantha blushed at Dr. Rebeka's comment. "Oh, we're just good friends," she quickly replied, trying to hide her embarrassment.
Bryan couldn't help but smile at her reaction. "Yes, we're just good friends," he echoed, but he couldn't deny the warmth he felt inside at the thought of possibly having a future with Samantha and their baby.
Dr. Rebeka, sensing that she may have touched on a sensitive topic, quickly changed the subject. "So, Samantha, how are you feeling? Any discomforts or symptoms we need to monitor?"
Samantha shook her head. "No, I'm feeling much better now. Thank you, Dr. Rebeka."
Bryan chimed in, "She's been taking her prenatal vitamins and supplements regularly, and following a healthy diet."
Dr. Rebeka nodded, impressed. "That's great to hear. Keep it up, Samantha. And Dr. Spencer, thank you for being so involved in your friend's care."
Bryan simply smiled and nodded. He couldn't help but feel a sense of responsibility towards Samantha and their baby, and he was more than happy to do what he could to ensure their safety and well-being.
Samantha looked at him, feeling a mix of emotions. Part of her felt touched by his words, but another part felt a pang of sadness. She couldn't help but think about her own situation and how far away she was from ever having a family of her own.
Bryan reached out and took her hand, giving it a gentle squeeze. "You're not alone, Sam. We'll get through this together," he said.
Samantha felt a wave of emotion wash over her, grateful for the support she was receiving. She knew that things were far from easy, but in that moment, she felt like she had a fighting chance.
