Augustus's obsession with finding Samantha grew with each passing day. He scoured the city, interrogated her acquaintances, and even hired private investigators to track her down. But Samantha seemed to have vanished into thin air.
As the days passed, Augustus became more and more anxious. He couldn't eat or sleep properly. All he could think about was Samantha and the things he had done to her. He realized that he had taken her for granted and had hurt her beyond repair.
One day, Augustus was sitting in his office, surrounded by piles of paper and files, but he couldn't concentrate on any of it. He had important pending works that needed to be done, problems that required his attention and solutions, but all he could think about was Samantha.
Augustus hesitated before finally giving in and reaching for his phone. He knew he should feel no remorse or regret, but something about the way Samantha had looked at him earlier that day had struck a chord within him. He couldn't help but think about her, and how he had treated her so poorly.
With a deep breath, he dialed Samantha's number, hoping she would answer. But the phone rang and rang, with no answer on the other end. Augustus let out a frustrated sigh, wondering if Samantha was purposely avoiding him.
He tried calling her again, and again, but still no answer. He couldn't shake off the feeling of wanting to talk to her and apologize for everything he had done. But with every unanswered call, his frustration grew and he eventually threw his phone across the room.
Augustus lay back on the couch, staring up at the ceiling, feeling more alone than ever. He realized how much he had pushed away the people who had truly cared about him. He couldn't help but feel a sense of regret and sadness for how he had treated her.
Clearly, he was becoming so desperate. This man, who had always been in control, wasn't used to not getting what he wanted, and right now, all he wanted was Samantha. He was willing to do anything to get her back, to make her see that he was the only one who could take care of her.
But deep down, he knew that wasn't true. He knew that he had only hurt her, that he had caused her so much pain. And yet, he couldn't let go. He couldn't imagine a life without her, even though he knew he didn't deserve her.
